The food quality was top notch & cooked to perfection. 3 delicious courses with pleasant timely service. Fresh produce really made the difference.

We made a reservation and were so looking forward to our dinner after staying at the resort. We were told that our server was new so we assumed someone would be helping her. Our meal took over 2.5 hours. We had to ask for water twice and waited almost an hour for just our appetizers. When the bill finally arrived, we were charged for a 4th meal that we didn’t order which was 45 pounds. We told the waitress that we were overcharged and she said she would check on it. Another server came over to justify the charge. I explained that we only had 3 people, not 4. After arguing with her for several minutes, she realized we were overcharged and went to fix our bill. The food was good, but the service was horrible and took way too long, especially for the cost. 4 tables came and went while we were still waiting for our food. We will not return due to the terrible service which is sad since the food was good. Not worth the price though.

On the pricey side but generous portions. Definitely on the pampering side of wellbeing. The mussels were absolutely stunning and the staff were very attentive.

Had dinner one evening while we were visiting Falmouth. The food tasted great. Presentation was great and the service impeccable. Would definitely eat here again.

We dined at the resort while staying at the liner. A 45 minute wait for a main course is unacceptable and no explanation or complimentary drink offered. Waiter was having a long conversation with another table about their dislike of The Liner. Rather unprofessional ?

Nice ambience and views of the bay. Food was tasty but it took quite a long time for the food to come out. It is quite pricey but I suppose in-line with other similar venues in the area.

We booked a table at the ‘Brasserie on the Bay’ based on the expectations of first-class fare engendered by their website, but paid little attention to the ‘at St Michael’s Resort’ after the restaurant name. That was a mistake. It turned out that the restaurant was in fact the eatery for what passes as a four-star hotel in Falmouth – a testament to the spectacularly modest expectations of the average British holidaymaker. So, the point is that it was incredibly hard to find unless you knew that the eatery was in fact hidden within the confines of another building. The ‘quality mark’ of St.Michael’s Resort is betrayed by the fact that the ‘hotel’ car park is in fact managed by one of those rapacious companies who use ANPR, charge outrageous fees for parking, or levy even more outrageous fines for motorists foolish enough to think that a decent restaurant wouldn’t be cheap enough to charge its customers for parking. The restaurant itself was pleasant enough but our suspicions were raised by the teenage staff who were somewhat disengaged, like they’d been asked to work on their day off. Then our suspicions were confirmed when we saw the ‘menu’. I guess it still did qualify as a ‘menu’ because there were three choices for starter, and three for dessert…but the qualifying characteristic of a restaurant (I believe) is that you should have more choices other than ‘roast meat’ (or nut cutlet for vegetarians). The starters were, in fact, passably good and nicely presented but the roast was about as ordinary as you could possibly hope to get and the nut cutlet dry. In fact, most people’s nan would have done a better job. So, providing you’ve dialled down your expectations to their minimum setting you’ll not be disappointed.

We have eaten here three times since New Year. A dinner for the two of us, Mother’s Day lunch for two and Easter Saturday dinner for four. On all three occasions we have been very impressed with the food, service and ambience. We are used to good dining in many places and this restaurants rates highly. Fortunately we are in walking distance and so very lucky. Keep doing what you do.

Lovely ambience, views, & staffWorst fish & chips ever !Soggy skin on / eyes in chips made from baking potatoes - dirty & inedible - chips should rustle ! Dry fish fingers in a leathery batter - not a nice piece of cod in a proper fish shop crisp coatingEven the mushy peas were dry & wrinkled - not mashed with butterDead grey dried flowers on tableAmazingly the tartare sauce was the best ever - disappointing lunch for us at these prices

Exceptional dinning, not 4 star but 5 stars. The Primrose Herb Belly Pork was absolutely divine, enjoyed every mouthful. (My plate was clean at the end) an excellent F/B red wine and to complete the evening, an Irish Coffee with Jameson of course. Michelin standards. Thanks to all.

Really bad service. Used this hotel numerous times over the years as a staying guest, for myself, work colleagues, for meetings, and gym and restaurant use and enjoyed my time there.. however on a recent night, spent over £120 on dinner only to be hit with a parking ticket since the parking has been taken over by a private company. Was told by managers the parking is for overnight guests only when the signage very clearly states ‘for hotel patrons’. As a guest of the restaurant I assumed I was a patron ‘customer of a business’ but apparently not in this case. No help from the hotel staff in resolving this and was entirely dismissed. On taking it up with the parking company I’ve now been hit with a £170 fine on top of my dinner bill. Left a sour taste. I was asked to provide my dinner receipts to show management as they could easily waive my ticket with a single mouse click, only then to be told they wouldn’t be forwarding details on and nothing they could do, so a further waste of time. Poor service all round. Had to remind staff several times during dinner about orders we’d made, which hadn’t been put through, and asked about internet going down only to be told “if it’s not on then it’s not working” then staff walked away with no explanation of when or if it might be up again. Asked politely to borrow a charging lead the next week during a morning meeting and was told yes, they’d bring one over to my table straight away.. when I chased up with two chatting bar staff after waiting 30 mins, I was told they didn’t have one and carried on their conversation. Would have been nice to be told rather than sitting waiting. Again with cold uncaring attitude. Really gone downhill recently, which is sad as the hotel is actually lovely and I’ve truly enjoyed it over the years but the service has become quite lacking and I sadly won’t be going back or using it for visiting colleagues or meetings. I’d recommend Merchants Manor, which I now use instead. A much more professional and caring service and parking for all ‘patrons’, guests and restaurant users alike.

Wouldn’t normally write a review but felt obliged to after todays visit. I booked in for breakfast for Mother’s Day, as non hotel guests. Managed to get a seat next to the window which was the best bit. Had a cooked breakfast myself which was nice, but very simple and small (one sausage, two small tomatoes, one slice of bacon, one hash brown and a small pot of beans). Upon paying, the amount charged for one breakfast was £20! I questioned this, to which the reply from the member of staff was ‘hotel prices’ with a shrug of his shoulders. I further questioned how a small cooked breakfast could cost £20, and the reasoning was, that if I wanted, I could’ve had the all you can eat continental as well! A little late for that but a fair point, perhaps could be made clearer, or a separate price for one or the other? Sadly St Michael’s continues to go down in my expectations.

The Sunday roast was amazing, good portion size and everything was cooked perfectly! Highly recommend, we will be back!
