Great food with great flavour. Lamb and trout particularly good. Great service, only downside just a little draughty!

Appletons Bar and Restaurant is the pearl of the beautiful fishing village Fowey. The food is excellent, the service fantastic and the atmosphere could not be better. We loved it and will definitely be back! If you pass by Fowey, you cannot miss the chance to dine here! Thanks so much Lyndsey for hosting us and for your recommendations. We followed them and spent a night at the Gainsborough in Bath. We enjoyed the hotel and spa very much. We wish you all the best and will make sure to come back when we are in Cornwall again!

So happy we tried this place. We got lunch and brought our little, which I was a bit worried about because this place was so fancy. However they were very accommodating with the baby and the space was bigger than expected. On top of that the food was amazing, even the baby's pesto pasta which was a huge portion so we ate some of it.Everything we tried was 10/10. Some lamb shoulder and squash pasta both exceptional. I wish we had more time to come here again to try more.

We are here as a family of four and everyone loved every bit. Great location, great food and generous portions. What more could you ask for.

A beautiful lunch and in a smart setting. Everything was presented like a work of art and tasted amazing to boot! I can't wait to go back!Kid-friendliness: Not overly kid friendly but a couple of options suitable for children who have a decent palate.

What a great place to dine. We have been in Padstow for a break so decided to venture south specifically to visit Appleton's and it definitely was worth the trip. As soon as I tasted the anchovy and sage fritters we knew a good meal was in store. Excellent pasta as you expect given Andie's head chefs role at both the flagship Jamie Oliver's Fifteen restaurants. Great cocktail list (11 negroni to choose from) an interesting no/lo selection and a short but well chosen Italian wine list. Also to find a Sgroppino outside of Italy was a great surprise! Wish we didn't live 200 miles away but will return when back down in that neck of the woods. Well done chef and team.

Loved the food and the cocktails, and great service.

Really nice if a little expensive. The lamb pasta was incredible, the steak was very good despite not coming with potatoes and the seafood stew was really interesting, not the standard taste at all. The cheese arancini deserves a mention too, very tasty.

We stopped in on 23/12 for a quick lunch and on the recommendation of a friend. We were not disappointed. Excellent wine list and the food was excellent. Also a small portion of a regular dish for our 20 month old was no trouble for them. Often the children’s menu’s are typically nuggets/fish and chips / burger etc. it was good to be able to order a half size pasta. Lovely bright premises tucked away in a small charming street and the staff were just lovely and helpful. Recommended.

A birthday meal with family that catered to everyone’s taste. We were greeted at the door with a warm welcome, coats taken and seated promptly. Nothing was too much trouble. An incredible experience all round. service, atmosphere and food were all 10/10. The evening was faultless, thank you to the Appletons team

We went for dinner this evening and the meal was lovely as was the atmosphere, staff and the vibe. The menu selection wasn’t huge but the slow cooked lamb was divine - literally melted in the mouth ? the staff were all very friendly, knew the menu VERY well and very attentive and accommodating.

I LOVE this place. We went for a visit today for what is rapidly becoming our in-between Christmas and New Year tradition. As always the deep fried anchovy and sage leaves were out of this world and the courses that followed were equally as awesome and delicious. It is lovely to see Andy cooking in his restaurant and the atmosphere is always one of calm. All of the staff are very friendly and efficient and nothing is too much trouble. My husband has a dairy intolerance and one of the waitresses took time to discuss his options with the kitchen and then noted them all down on his menu. There aren’t enough adjectives to describe how brilliant Appletons is. It is quite simply my favourite restaurant and I am forever grateful that I live close enough to visit it often.
