Appleton's Bar & Restaurant
19 Fore St, FoweyAppletons Bar and Restaurant is the pearl of the beautiful fishing village Fowey. The food is excellent, the service fantastic and the atmosphere could not be better. We loved it and will definitely be back! If you pass by Fowey, you cannot miss the chance to dine here! Thanks so much Lyndsey for hosting us and for your recommendations. We followed them and spent a night at the Gainsborough in Bath. We enjoyed the hotel and spa very much. We wish you all the best and will make sure to come back when we are in Cornwall again!

The Dwelling House at Fowey
The Dwelling House, 6 Fore St, FoweyOutstanding supper. So many different offerings and flavours. This is perfect home cooking and you can see the chefs in the home kitchen cooking. It’s so cosy and It felt like being at someone’s house rather than a stark, non atmospheric modern restaurant. Exceptional service - just perfect.

Pintxo Fowey
38 Esplanade, FoweyJust wonderful! We visited Fowey in March 2024 for just a few nights. It was the week before Easter so a lot of places were, understandably, still closed and the town relatively quiet. We came across Pintxo whilst looking for an early dinner on our final night. We had our 7 month old daughter and our dog with us.The staff were incredibly accommodating and friendly. The menu had a great selection of tapas options. We ordered 5 dishes to split between the two of us.The food was not only delicious and fresh but came out quickly and was reasonably priced. The calamari was probably the best we’ve ever had. The crab croquettes, hummus and chorizo dishes were also really delicious. If we are in the area again we wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Sam's Fowey
20 Fore St, FoweyOur new favourite local restaurant!Fish restaurants in the UK are never cheap and the food can be pretty average but Sams offers excellent fish dishes, very well prepared and at a pretty reasonable price.Good, friendly service that was attentive but not overly so, so we didn't feel in any way rushed. We will certainly be returning.

Harbour Hotel Fowey
Esplanade, FoweyIt was probably 10 years ago that we had last stayed here and what a positive change there has been. Refurbished throughout. We got a deal so had a room without a view but it was a good size, bright and very comfortable with a superb bed. One very nice touch was a daily complimentary gin and tonic left in the room (X2). There was a separate shower (bit smaller than ideal) and bath and high quality fittings in the en-suite. Very glad we tried them again. It won't be 10 years before our next visit! PS I forgot to mention how good the staff were - with special praise for Billy (a trainee apparently) who was really helpful. One suggestion (not a gripe!) would be for staff to wear name badges?

Brown Sugar
2 South St, FoweyWe arrived at Brown Sugar sodden wet on a very rainy day and were welcomed in with smiles. An exceptional lunch (brilliant home made fish finger sandwich). Top shout out to team member Lana who ran down to the ferry with a pair of gloves we’d left on the table! Highly recommended.

Old Quay House Restaurant
The Old Quay House Hotel, 28 Fore St, FoweyWhat a fabulous hotel! We stayed for three nights in a lovely room with doors opening on to a picturesque river view. The food was absolutely fantastic and the service provided by all the staff was faultless. As many people have said the fact that there is no onsite parking is a small downside but as long as you factor in the cost of a taxi to and from the long term car park this can easily be overcome, and it’s worth it to stay in such a lovely hotel. We will definitely go back.

Roly's Fudge Pantry
21 Fore St, FoweyLovely staff and delicious fudge! I was recommended by a friend so I decided to pop in. They had a variety of flavours available in bags or by weight. We tried some christmas pudding fudge and had to buy it. They even offered us a few free bags of fudge that “weren’t good enough to sell” (they were absolutely delicious though!!) 10/10 Would recommend ??

Fowey Sweet Shop (and Cornish handmade fudge too!)
15 Fore St, FoweyLove this shop. Great selection of fudge, bagged and freshly chopped from a big bar. A guiding star when all lights have gone out. My favourites are malted and the Cornish delight and Cream tea. That jelly bit really adds an extra dimension of texture and flavour/

The Lugger Inn Fowey
5 Fore St, FoweyCleanest room and bathroom I've seen outside my own home! Brilliant! Bed and pillows to die for. Haven't slept so well in a long time. Dinner was superb. We shared a bowl of muscles, yum! I then had the belly pork. Almost lost for words. I love belly pork, often my choice, this was the best. Sylv, who works here, lovely lady and very helpful, nothing too much trouble. The landlord, characterful! Cracking bloke, really interesting life. Take the time to chat to him. The worst thing you can do coming to fowey, is to walk past the Lugger

Bufala Fowey
1 Lostwithiel St, FoweyHad an amazing meal at this really vibrant restaurant. You can’t book but we managed to get in and had some lovely food served by friendly staff. On the day we visited it was raining, but there looked to be a lovely deck looking out over the harbour which would be great on a sunny day.

Sunny Spice
39A Fore St, FoweyWe were staying in Fowey last week in a self catering property so decided to grab a take out from Sunny Spice one night. Couldn’t fault it at all. We eat curry’s a lot and can be quite fussy but all the dishes we had were delicious, full of flavour, plenty of meat and not disgustingly greasy like some places! Not the biggest portions but the quality was perfect. Will eat in the restaurant when we visit next

North Street Kitchen
55 North St, FoweyBrilliant. . Brilliant. . Brilliant. . Food ,concept, service and drinks with a fantastic cool atmosphere. . Cornwall at its best. . I’m a massive fan of this place and go every time I’m in Cornwall.. DONT pay attention to the new sayers on here with their negative reviews. . I think the fact you have to question to get a table every time it’s open says it all. . Anyone leaving a negative doesn’t understand the concept and quality and really should stick to going to chain restaurants and take any coupons they can muster. .

The Lugger Inn
The Quay, Polruan, FoweyPopped in for a drink after a very cold (but beautiful ) Hall Walk. I just wanted a hot drink but alas, no plant milk at all available. Thank goodness this doesn't happen very often at all these days!Dietary restrictions: Please supply plant milk for vegans and those with milk allergy. Honestly it's only just over a pound in Tesco and the the long life does last quite a long while.

Fowey Fish and Chips
Webb St, FoweyStopped in here today just to get a small portion of chips to eat, whilst walking to Readymoney Cove. Ordered a small portion, costing £2.70. Was told there would be a 6 minute wait, as they are cooked fresh to order. Being from Cornwall, I have eaten from many different fish & chip shops, and I can honestly say these were the best chips I have ever eaten. Cooked to perfection, and fantastic portion size, I've had smaller large portions before. Can't wait to have them again.
