What a fabulous hotel! We stayed for three nights in a lovely room with doors opening on to a picturesque river view. The food was absolutely fantastic and the service provided by all the staff was faultless. As many people have said the fact that there is no onsite parking is a small downside but as long as you factor in the cost of a taxi to and from the long term car park this can easily be overcome, and it’s worth it to stay in such a lovely hotel. We will definitely go back.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at old quay house, and I must say it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. Not only was the food delicious, but the impeccable service provided by our waitress Megan , truly elevated our evening. From the moment we were seated, she greeted us with a warm smile and a genuine enthusiasm that set the tone for the entire meal. Her knowledge of the menu was impressive, and she took the time to explain recommendations based on our preferences.Throughout the meal, she was attentive without being intrusive, ensuring that our glasses were always filled, and our needs were met promptly. Her professionalism and attention to detail were evident, and it made us feel truly valued as customers. As for the food, it was a culinary delight. Each dish was prepared with care, and the flavors were a symphony for the taste buds. Whether you're a fan of classic dishes or looking to try something more adventurous, Old Quay has a diverse menu that will satisfy every palate. The ambiance of the restaurant is also worth mentioning. It's a perfect blend of cozy and upscale, making it an ideal spot for both intimate dinners and larger gatherings. In summary, Old Quayis not just a place to eat; it's an experience. The combination of delectable food and exceptional service provided by Megan made our evening truly memorable. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience. Thank you, Megan , and Old Quay, for making our night, We'll definitely be back!

My girlfriend and I ate in the restaurant on a Monday evening, perhaps not a traditionally busy day, but our table at 6:30pm was that last available! We were greeted at checkin by the front of house manager who graciously welcomed us and dealt with some minor confusion over our late booking with consummate ease. We were shown to a comfortable seating area and offered drinks whilst our table was readied. A couple of glasses of Prosecco followed nearly instantly accompanied by the menus and a polite question about any allergies—I’m dairy intolerant which was noted.A short while later we were shown to our table in the middle of the restaurant overlooking the estuary where our wine awaited. An amuse bouche and bread (served with butter and oil for the non dairy) followed shortly which started the culinary delights. My partner was served a sweet potato foam and for me a smoked salmon and caper dish (non dairy). Both were absolutely delicious.Smoked mackerel starters followed for us both (one with a dairy foam and one without). These were absolutely delightful.Mains came with perfect timing and looking amazing; roast cod for me and chicken breast for my partner. Both were delicious. We rounded things off with an Irish coffee and a panna cotta which as expected we’re amazing. All in all an absolutely top drawer dining experience paired with truly impeccable service. Many a Michelin starred restaurant could learn from the Old Quay House. Can’t wait to returnRooms: Thoughtfully designed comfortable roomsFood & drinks: Exceptional food and service to match

Booked based on previous reviews. The food was amazing, the service was great, but it just lacked atmosphere! We found it very clinical.I had smoke mackerel for starters, which was cooked to perfection followed by the pea and lemon risotto, which was to die for!Would have loved to be offered to sit out on the balcony overlooking the harbour itself but weren't given the option. Unfortunately, we could have been in a service station in Exeter for all we knew. This, however, shouldn't detract from both the service and food, which was excellent.

Food we had was delicious. This restaurant has been voted "most romantic" which I would question when you have little kids running up and down restaurant at 8pm. Not quite the experience we wanted to celebrate 40th Wedding Anniversary. Service was a bit hit and miss especially when they weren't particularly busy. Waited for dessert order to be taken with staff just walking past ignoring us. In the end got up and paid as the moment had gone! Fir what we paid not good enough. And no we did not pay the 12.5pc discretionary tip.

A great setting for a special family meal. Service was second to non and a member of staff even gallantly fended off the local seagulls. Ask for a table with a view when you book.

A very impressive restaurant. Warm welcome and excellent service throughout our meal. Food was delicious and the whole dining experience was outstanding. We were so impressed that we booked dinner again for Friday before our holiday in Fowey ends. Highly recommended.

I visited here with high hopes looking at the pictures of the food.. the reality was an experience of bland food that lacked enough seasoning.

We went to The Quay House twice during our week in Fowey. On both occasions the food and ambiance was excellent and the staff very helpful. The range of items on the menu is limited and it is a pity there were no 'specials' as an alternative. Cost wise it was over £100 for 2 people. The location is lovely with the ever changing river views. We will go back.

We were accommodated in spite of a lack of a booking. Inventive combinations and cooking, good relaxed service, wine well-priced given quality of restaurant. Great location with estuary view.
