Visited last time we were in Cornwall and it was lovely, food not as good this time round and the Lasagne portions have shrunk . But the wife thoroughly enjoyed her meal.

Food great as always, but could do with putting the heating on as it was freezing in there.Food & drinks: Can not fault the food, delicious as always.

A festive lunch, great venue for a big group. Loads of parking, plenty of staff behind bar and a really spacious venue. Food good and service excellent - again plenty of staff to get food to table for all in double quick time.

Lovely lunch, as always, with pleasant staff who knew what they were doing. I had super cod and chips with delicious batter; just right. Husband's gammon was also well cooked. Friendly, welcoming owners and we always know we will have a good meal. Don't understand the negative reviews.

We hired their upstairs function room for a family 90th birthday party. From the first email to the last glass of fizz, Trevor and his team were amazing. Every detail carefully considered. Lovely food, helpful smiling staff, great facilities and everywhere spotlessly clean made our party a truly memorable event. The Old Quay House is located just off the A30bypass at the end of the Hayle Estuary which is easy access with lots of parking. Would highly recommend. Thanks again Trevor, Margaret and team!

Fantastic food, service and ambience. Thank you Trevor, Margaret & fantastic staff for another fabulous lunch and awards event for Penzance Bowling Club. Nothing but praise for you all from all our members. We'll be back next year as normal ?

We held a 90th birthday lunch for my dad at The Old Quay in Hayle in their upstairs function room. From the first email, to serving the last glass of fizz, Trevor and the team were simply amazing. Super-organised, helpful, smiling and unflappable: just what you need when organising a secret birthday lunch for over 30 guests! Everything ran smoothly and the food was very tasty. The area has its own bar, dance floor and toilets and two sets of stairs-one with a stairlift. Everywhere was very clean. It’s really easy to get to being just off the main A30 bypass on the estuary just outside Hayle and has loads of parking. I strongly recommend and would certainly go there again for a similar event. Although we didn’t use it, they also have a screen and AV equipment.

The carvery is excellent. Definitely book to avoid disappointment as it does get busy. But worth it. There's also a children's play area outside. Also a Pleasant view over the estuary.

Perched on the edge of the estuary the location is perfect however the welcome was a little frosty and having been seated on the smallest table available the atmosphere could only be described as a little odd, functional not friendly and verging on dismissive. The menu offered a good selection of interesting options and in part the food was acceptable. Some elements were not the best quality but in general our meals were edible if a little pricey. We didn’t feel that The Old Quay House really wanted people to do anything more than eat and leave. A huge shame really as the location offers so much at first sight.

This Inn is brilliant for Sunday lunch. My husband and I booked 10 days ago for carvery lunch for today. The service was prompt and staff were very friendly and efficient. The portion size was very generous, delicious and good value for money. My husband and I are gluten intolerant and they provided gluten free Yorkshire puddings and gravy. We also were fortunate enough to have see view. We shall be be definitely coming back again.
