Only called in for a coffee so can't speak for the rooms. The lounge and bar areas however were well furnished and welcoming. Some original (?) artworks on the walls. And some interesting history to the place - details of which are readily available.Well worth calling in .

My dad and I are staying at the angel inn in helston Cornwall and to be honest we are not having the best time.On arrival we couldn't get in and we came to the hotel before closing time and we was able to get access. We had to come back the next day. The room is nice but the TV dosent work and we can't get WiFi signal so there is not much to do.We asked for help to get the TV working but it was unable to be fixed and the man that was helping us said he will have to call someone in.Also we got told that we will be getting breakfast but on arrive they said it would not be happening. So me and my dad had to travel to get breakfast somewhere else.I don't really know if it was worth the price we paid for. There is nothing to do in the hotel room.Rooms: They are nice and a decent size

Comfortable bar with excellent staff. Very good prices too! Probably the best in town for value. Good selection of beers, both bottled and draft. Always service with a smile. And there’s always some memorable regulars to chat to.

Not a lot of people in the bar but Mina and Joel behind the bar were an absolute pleasure to talk to.

Lovely Hotel/Pub in Helston, very welcoming bar area and exceptional staff. Lots of local historical connections. Well worth a visit ?

To start with a positive, the lady that booked us in was very helpful and welcoming, very much appreciated. As for the room, well, it was clean which is great. Other than that they are pretty diabolical. I appreciate the age of the building, but our disappointment went beyond that. Our roomed needed to be completely redecorated. The walls in parts were damp, the tiling in the bathroom was not finished and the overall finish was very very cheap. We were also unsure on the native Indian pictures on the walls, very odd.Would I say again? Nope, not even if it was £40 a night. Some serious money needs to be spent to bring this building up to spec.

The room and decor need to be bought up to date. Bed uncomfortable, towels too small, pillows flat, bathroom hadn't been finished by the looks of things half untiled peeling wallIt needs some love put back in to it. The lady who booked us in was lovely very friendly and chatty

Thank you for helping us out this past weekend with a place to stay for our three staff members.

As a local resident who has frequented this hotel and bar for many decades it is sad to see it in its current state. Today was no exception when I decided to drop in for a few drinks prior to walking home with my 3 dogs. Instead of a warm Xmas welcome I was greeted with hostile questions about my dogs behaviour and to keep them on their leads. It is no surprise that this place is always close to empty with this sort of welcome. I would definitely recommend the other nearby bars which are much more pleasant and less hostile. A crying shame as this is an excellent bar area and used to be one of the busiest bars in the town.

This Hotel needs a renovation. Also noisy street on Saturday night.

We went to the Angel hotel for a valentines meal. The welcome was warm, the ambience was warm, the service was excellent and friendly. BUT the food.......they need a quality chef, someone who can rebuild there reputation because it was the let down of an otherwise excellent evening. We will be going again in the knowledge that the landladies are working to improve the food aspect of the hotel.
