Red Chair and all its staff are a real credit to Launceston but the best way to sum up our feelings as a family of five ranging in age from teenagers to pensioners with a mix of vegans to carnivores is that we go there every week and are never dissapointed.

We popped in today for lunch after seeing such great reviews for gluten free food online. There is a really large gluten free menu, which is all cooked seperately and all suitable for coeliacs. Being coeliac myself, this was really great to find, and i felt comfortable eating here and was reassured by the owners, who are also coeliac. They are very friendly, and the food was brilliant. Great value for money too! Would definitely recommend!

A great little family run café. Staff very friendly and food was delicious and reasonably priced. Gluten free and vegetarian menus available. It was so nice to be able to have a wide GF variety to choose from, instead of having to dissect the main menu. Will definitely recommend and will be returning.

Almost missed this gem of a cafe while walking around Launceston as it’s next to the old archway on the 1 way system. Dog friendly, which is what we were looking for, and Rex and us were made very welcome by the friendly staff. Not overly busy at the time, food quality and quantity very good with the only slight disappointment being that 1 drink and 1 meal we asked were unfortunately not available. However we still enjoyed the food we had and can certainly recommend a visit if ever in the area.

Wonderful welcome. Having been let down by a local hotel after booking an afternoon tea for big birthday treat, we popped in to ask if they could make us a bespoke afternoon tea. They were more than happy to help us and sorted a fabulous spread.

Good food and service. Quirky in a nice way. Had a short stop-off en route to Cornwall. Bit difficult to find, but near the town centre.

My friend and I arrived in Launceston on a Monday morning and wanted to have a coffee and a light breakfast, however the cafes we found were all closed except this little gem. A lovely welcome and they said we could bring the dogs in. The owners and staff were friendly and helpful. The coffee and light breakfasts we had were delicious. The dogs were treated to dog biscuits by the owners. We were told that in the afternoon they were showing a film, unfortunately we were on our way back to Somerset. I would highly recommend this wonderful little cafe.

This is a fantastic place to eat in Launceston. Central location, clean and presentable, great menu, staff friendly, efficient fast service, food cooked to perfection and good value. Highly recommended to anyone needing a food/drink break while in Launceston. Many thanks to the owner and staff for a very pleasant experience.

Very surprising little gem of a place, very clean and well presented despite small appearance from the outside. Lovely homecooked food with a warm welcome from the young ladies serving. Thank you we'll be back.

My Son and I stumbled across the Red Chair by accident while walking around the town. The menu displayed on the outside of the building shows that they really understood allergies, all but a couple of items were gluten free. My son is gluten intolerant so we went in. Such a great decision the food was excellent and all home made. The portion sizes are great and to be honest our meal was very reasonably priced, I would have been happy to pay more. I ordered the quiche, this was made to order and came with a salad, this was amazing! The salad filled the plate and the quiche was in it’s own dish. The salad included all of the usual ingredients but also included, grapes, blueberries, walnuts and a choice of dressings really nice meal. The Staff were also lovely, very polite and professional. We talked to the owners on our way out who were really nice, they explained how they create their menu with the emphasis on offering a fully inclusive choice for everyone. We really do recommend the red chair cafe, you will be impressed!

Nice little spot for lunch, the food was nice quality and there was plenty of it. The staff were keen and helpful, though at times it seemed a little chaotic. The food was cooked to order so took a little while but it was nice, a good lunch spot!

The servers seemed to be untrained and cautious around us, and the food that we ordered was very skint to say the least. We ordered tea, and my sister ordered a vanilla chai. The wait staff asked US if that was a type of coffee when chai literally means tea. They then mixed up the words chai and chia seeds, thinking that’s what it was. Honestly kinda funny, and i would’ve brushed it off if the food was good. That was not the case. My sister got a build your own breakfast and ordered sausages, bacon, hash browns and baked beans. They gave her one sausage, a singular rasher of bacon, two hash browns and baked beans in a tiny pot. I ordered a blt and got a giant slap of tomato that leaked everywhere, some lettuce and bacon, and a bun that looked like something from a hospital cafeteria. The whole meal was unseasoned with no sauces/mayo, and very small.
