Nice to find a pub that's from yesteryear, and not a theme establishment. Staff and locals friendly, found it amusing that the mens ? was across the road from the pub. Visit again when in Launceston.

Amazing roast beef dinner, the best beef I've ever tasted! Can't believe we've not been to this local pub.

Visited Launceston today to visit Go Outdoors, then went to find somewhere for lunch, parked the car outside of The Westgate Inn, went in lovely atmosphere and people really friendly inside, I had a Roast Pork dinner, it was a delicious Sunday roast evey part of it was really tasty. My daughter had the Chilli, husband had all day breakfast they both enjoyed theirs equally as much as mine totally would reccommend The Westgate Inn to my friends and family if they visit Launceston xx

Visited as opposing dart team. Team was friendly and we had a good night. Burger or sausage and chips offered as refreshments which was very good. It's a locals pub so it was extremely noisy with lots of shoutey people.

Nice small pub, meals took a while to come but were worth the wait.

Wonderful home cooked food.As for previous reviewer complaining about the gents...it is a cross the road, as is the cellar. For info, they are also in a different parish to the pub. If you are worried about crossing the road to use the loo, maybe you need to get a life.

Very olde world pub next the the castle.Great pasty. Reasonable prices
A traditional local pub with a very friendly welcome and a good range of alcoholic and soft drinks. They were doing breakfast and lunches when I visited but not evening meals, possibly due to it still being outside the tourist season. The staff were lovely, the toilets clean and the tables cleaned and disinfected after each use. Slightly quirky as the men's toilets are in the building across the road! The clientele were also friendly and chatty, would definitely visit again.
