Visited this fish and chip shop 3 times recently as we just discovered it. What a find! I can honestly say it's the best I've had. They do all the usuals you'd expect and much more, lots of specials. The staff are always brilliant. Fantastic king prawns, the biggest I've eaten for years.

They were Fabulous fish n chips. We ate them straight away walking down into Looe. There is a bit of a wait though, but I suppose it’s because it is very popular

Absolutely fantastic food and cooked perfectly. Clean and friendly and highly recommended. I can see why they were voted no 1 chip shop in Cornwall

We have not been for a while, but should not have left it so long, the cod was perfect, and the chips were great. All in all a great dinner, Will not go anywhere else from now on.

So disappointed. Have to be the worse chips I've had. Rotten, scrappy, and most thrown away. The saceloy was nice. Left hungry as most went in the bin.

I went to get Fish and chips yesterday, I had never been aware that there was a chip shop there before! Looks as though that was my loss. The food we had last night was perfect, we had a large cod and chips between us, my wife and I. Feeling a little bit naughty today, I’ve decided to go again ‘Tonight’, the gallery burgers look too good to pass, I’ll let you know what transpires!

All items cooked fresh to order. Good pricing structure. High quality ingredients. Option of dining inside after ordering takeaway. Don’t be put off by the residential location. Easy free parking for takeaway pick up.

Although the food was good it was not value for money. When the assisstant went to wrap our fish i told him i ordered normal size not mini Thats how small it was. Already paid or would of cancelled. I could touch both ends of fish and it wasn't thick.

Lovely fish and chips. It's a little bit out of the way, not in the very centre Looe, but I'd read good reviews so was determined to find it with the aid of the sat-nav! Glad we did, a nice shop, all looked nice and clean and the servers all seemed professional so filled me with optimism! Proved to be very good, with lovely chips, nice and crisp and tasty and delicious fish. Recommend the curry sauce too - very authentic tasting. This was our favourite meal of our holiday.

Visited Bens Plaice for the first time with my wife for some evening food. We arrived about 15 minutes before closing. It was busy but I didn’t have to wait to be served it for our food. The staff were efficient and friendly. It was also evident that the front of house manager, Nick, was ensuring that the food was served promptly , the correct order and top quality! We weren’t disappointed. Our food was some of the best chips and curry sauce we had ever had!! We would have no hesitation in recommending Bens and will certainly be going there again.Well done ? If this doesn’t win Best Cornwall Chippy this year it will have been robbed. Can tell they use quality suppliers. Always friendly. The fish is beautiful, properly fresh and white. The chicken ginger wrap is fresh, plentiful and full of flavour. Sometimes there is a wait, but it’s because it’s cooked fresh. Phone ahead if it bothers you.

Superb fish Superb chips. Ben's is a gem for fish and chips. Probably used more by locals as it's of the beaten track a little. We had Cod chips x2 one kids cod meal and one kids sausage meal with mushy peas and curry sauce. All tasted great, but the curry sauce was extremely moreish. Friendly staff with seating inside.

This is my favorite place to eat fish and chips. I live in California and travel extensively, and I can honestly say that I’ve never had anything better than Ben’s Plaice! The fish is always fresh, the batter is crispy and not oily, the chips are tasty and the portions are generous. I cannot recommend highly enough 10/10 for sure! I’ve never eaten anything better in the UK or US. Well worth it

We found Ben’s Plaice on our recent holiday to Looe, as we were looking for a fish and chip shop as the Coddy Shack was temporarily closed. We were recommended to try Ben’s Plaice by some locals and we certainly were impressed. The batter was lovely thin and crispy, chips were fresh and fish was of lovely quality. The staff in the Barbican branch were really pleasant, and when I thought I had paid too much and I called to ask, they were pleasant and helped to resolve the query ( I hadn’t!). The ordering and waiting system was one of the best I have seen in a fish shop and the menu was varied with something to suit all tastes. Thank you so much Ben’s Plaice, we will see you when we come down to Looe next year!
