Had a confirmed reservation for today, arrived to find restaurant closed. We weren't the only ones. No notification, no notice on door. Not good enough.

We booked a while ago, but it seems they’ve lost the chef that earned them the good reviews back then. The food was OK, but not what I’d expected from the past reviews. They were short staffed the evening we ate there - the girls were lovely and working hard but struggling to keep up. Hope this all gets sorted out. Probably still one of the better choices for Looe.

5 stars all round! Amazing & attentive staff who were really friendly. Really tasty food, presented so nicely. A lovely calm and pleasant atmosphere. Thanks for a great evening!

Very friendly welcome and staff. Smorgasbord shared starter was great. Bream, crab linguini, veggy coronation cauli all great. Scallops main course outstanding. Good coffee too. We'll be back.

I’ll give it another chance in a couple of weeks. I hope it doesn’t let me down this time. I don’t know if they have had a change in chef or management. However, I’m not a fan of the new menu. Coupled with the new staff. I used to come here for how good the value was on the set menu. However, it is no longer that beneficial. Some of the stuff on the set menu even works out cheaper if you order it normally.Disappointed this time but willing to give it another chance based on previous experiences.

With very little choice of nice restaurants, this is a little oasis in Looe. Tucked away just off the quay , we chose it as possibly the only alternative to a " chips n all restaurant " on a cold day in January. We were lucky to have a brand new menu to choose from , and the £30 2 course table d'hote menu looked good value . All the food was absolutely excellent. The crab linguini and pollock starters were followed by an exceptional sea bream - with additional side dishes to choose too . The food was all well cooked , fresh and tasty -and the portions were very good indeed . We even managed a panacotta dessert between us . All for less than £100 . Just brilliant .

We had a meal this evening at the old sail loft, the seafood platter was lovely, we wanted to thank the staff for welcoming us and especailly Zak who was incredibly helpful and kind. Would happily recommend.

I am sure this is a one off but the New Year Menu was over priced, such smallportions we left hungry and unhappy despite them reducing the bill that wasn’t related to the food but another frustration we had with them in the night. I think 8 chips and half a hot dog for the main course really out the nailin the coffin.Such a shame as it was supposed to be a treat for our stay in Looe for New Year celebrations.

We booked for there new years eve event and are we glad we did. Service was brilliant, food was amazing and the whole evening a wonderful experience. The set menu had five courses paired with different shots to complement each dish which worked, it just worked. We would definitely recommend this fab restaurant to all...thank you for a fantastic night.

Every time we've visited Cornwall we've always visited the Sailoft for dinner and enjoyed in enough to want to return but we both agree that the visit today was a big disappointment. Most of what was on the menu was deep fried, not a decent dish on offer. Fish cake, deep fried, fish Kiev deep fried, New potato fried. The choice was too limited to have anything else. Doubt very much we will return. The furniture needs an update, holes in the seats covered by tacky covers! If only the owner took notice of the negatives.
