My partner and I are regular visitors to moonlight tandoori. We always have the same thing and it never disappoints. The host and staff are always so friendly and happy every time we return. It's bring your own beer and there's a co-op across the road.Normally poppadoms, Chicken Korma, Chicken Tikka Massala, Rice and Naans to share. The chicken is always so good. This is the best Indian I've ever had. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fantastic. We have not had an Indian meal like this for years.Good portions and superb taste.Really nice to have a dish that lives up to the menu description.Lovely host, and comfortable restaurant.Would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic Indian meal.

Visited last Friday for the first time and enjoyed a lovely meal with my family. We had some poppadoms to start which were nice and crunchy and served with a generous chutney tray.Main dishes were also on the generous side and very tasty, probably best garlic nan bread I've had in a very long time too! We all enjoyed our meal and commented how flavoursome it was. Owner was very friendly and the bonus is the restaurant allows you to bring your own alcohol!Vegetarian options: Very flexible, chef was happy to make a paneer dupiaza which was not listed on the menu.

After researching Indian restaurants around South East Cornwall, Moonlight Tandoori in Lostwithiel seems to receive better reviews than most, so 6 of us including our 13 year old, on his first Indian restaurant adventure, arrived here at 7.30 on a cold and wet Saturday evening. We arrived to an already busy restaurant, a good sign, this early in the evening. After the obligatory poppadoms and chutney tray, we ordered a good selection of meat and vegetarian / vegan mains, vegetable sides and naan. The restaurant has a ‘bring your own’ alcohol policy and we were provided with a wine / beer bottle opener and glasses. There is a Co-op just across the street with a decent drinks selection if you have forgotten to bring anything. Moonlight serves soft drinks. The food arrived in ornate metal dishes, each one filled to the brim and sprinkled with fresh herbs. Our dishes included: Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Pathia, a King prawn Saag, vegetable Dhansak and a vegetable Bhuna. Sides were bhindi bhaji (Okra), lightly cooked, so the delicate vegetable hadn’t dissolved into mush, brinjal bhaji, saag bhaji, a bowl of tarka daal, pilau and garlic rice and naan bread.Everything was cooked and spiced to perfection. The Pathia, sweet with a mildly fiery kick, still slightly firm onions and tomato sauce and tender chicken, The tikka masala, creamy and rich, the dhansak slightly sweet with a rich and spicy kick. The vegetarian mains contained a good selection of fresh vegetables.Nothing was too oily and the portions both generous and very reasonably priced. We were given take-away food trays to take any left over food home with us.The hosts are friendly and welcoming with just the right level of attention given. We will be returning!Highly recommended and probably worth booking as the restaurant remained full, all the while we were there.

The food is excellent here. The staff are lovely, helpful and friendly.I highly recommend the Persian chicken biryani and the Singapore spicy dishes.

Just adding to the other positive reviews. Very good quality food - best curry I've had in this part of Cornwall. Very friendly and attentive owner. Surprised as others have been when told there was no licence but the owner fully expected us to buy our own at the Coop over the road , provided glasses etc. Made the drinks bill very cheap!

We had a great meal here. Chicken shashlik, chicken korma and lamb passanda. All excellent, esp with the nan and peshwari nan. Great value for the quality of food. For drink, it's bring your own but a good choice at the nearby coop. Worth booking as not a large restaurant and they have a lively take away trade.

For the 1st time I walked of a restaurant with out eating anything,The server who I believe was the owner was very arrogant and rude. We decided to try one item from the menu and decide if we want to order more. But he refused and arrogantly and stubbornly said "decide your entire order at once, I won't take the order again and again"We all were in a fix and puzzled what kind of restaurant decides what we as a customer wants to eat.I wouldn't recommend anyone to dine in here is you hold self respect. In any restaurant courtesy comes 1st the then business of food.

Would rate him as minus stars. The owner of the restaurant was VERY RUDE with us. He denied serving us food as he was insisting we order everything together instead of ordering the item which we had ordered. We walked out due to his rudeness.

Ate hear after reading other reviews. The host was welcoming on arrival, he quickly pointed out that they don't serve alcohol but you're more than welcome to BYOB and there is a co-op over the road. The menu was plentiful. The food arrived timely and was fresh, we all had curry and the meat was lovely and moist. Fresh naans were delicious and the food and plates were bought out hot. We felt so welcome here and really enjoyed the food.

Probably the best curry I’ve had. Jalfrezi was amazing. Everything was hot, perfectly presented. Service was outstanding. Couldn’t have been more helpful. Only problem is that I live so far away. Will make this my new favourite place for an excellent curry. Thanks for fitting us in at such short notice.

Excellent little Indian. Gentleman in charge of front of house v attentive to all our needs. Not sure whether we wanted one rice or two, and he suggested we start with one, as we could always have a second. The food was freshly cooked and delicious. Not licensed for alcohol so took our own wine (co-op opposite if you need to nip out to get some).
