No trip to St Austell would be complete without having breakfast at least once at this fabulous bakery shop cafe. Not only that but if you can't face breakfast their cornish pasties are second to none. We visited the Carglaze cafe everyday on our trip to St Austell. Spotlessly clean, fresh and the staff aren't bad either.

Best Danish pastry I've eaten in a long while. The cappuccino with oat milk was also extremely good. Friendly, helpful staff.

Great bakery with a great cafe upstairs. Really good value for money and friendly staff. Definitely recommend popping in for a breakfast.

I'd award 3.5 if possible- the better side of average. We were attracted to the establishment by good offers on breakfasts and impressive looking over-size cakes. Staff all seemed very friendly advising of seating and in serving. The cafe facilities were definitely better than those of large bakery chains I'm used to. The café area appeared clean despite being perhaps a little run down and in need of an update. Toilets were down a very worn, dingy stairway but were good in cleanliness despite a dodgy handle. Toasted sandwich was very nice, breakfast was typical cafe food, cheap meat but perfectly well cooked and great value. The OJ wasn't the nicest but everything was presented nicely. A very good basic cafe with great views from window seat.

The bakery is fine but avoid the restaurant. We had a ring doughnut from the bakery which was lovely. But we had breakfast in their upstairs restaurant and to say it was a disappointment would be an understatement.Took 30 minutes to arrive. It was one of the saltiest bacons ever, cheap sausages that made Richmond ones seem posh. The hash brown was just about coloured and tasted raw. Toast was just about warmed, with enough butter for half a slice. And eggs well, they were rubbery and over cooked so much so that when cut the yolk came away as a separate disc from the white.Won’t go back.

Not good if you have mobility issues. Toilet is up stairs then down stairs. Pretty poor quality food offering, catering sausages, no granary all very basic

Rude, absolutely rude customer service from them (9/8/23). We are locals and were our usual polite selves today and support this bakery in the winter months when they rely on us. Not any more. We will take our business elsewhere.

Service, food & price all 5/5. 2 breakfasts for £16 includes everything you need and they are served all day! Highly recommended.

The pastries were noce but the cashier did not even ask if we wanted to eat in or have it as take away and just assume it would be for take away and when we were about to get a seat, she just shouted that we are not allowed to have a seat as we had ours as take away
