A very warm welcome and a decent range of beers. We opted for the Tomahawk steak sharing platter for 2. It was a sight to behold, easily enough for 3/4 people. The meat was tender and delicious and cooked just as we like it. TheStaff were very friendly as were the locals one of whom said he had the Tomahawk for his birthday and had failed to finish. We were also defeated. We had a lovely evening. Highly recommend the Traveller’s Rest for its food, service and ambience.

Fantastic pub with outstanding food. Really friendly staff. Portion size is insane, in a good way. Dog friendly. Well priced for the quality of food.

Stopped there after a long rainy walk along the cliffs, it was wonderful ! The mains were amazing, tasty and fresh, and as for the apple crumble with custard, it was simply awesome. Thank you for everything, we’ll come back for sure ! ?

Go here every few months when we are out that way. Have had the carvery a few times and also food from the standard menu. Good selection on both and well priced.
This place absolutely never disappoints, we live not far away and we love coming for Sunday lunch, a relaxing afternoon spent playing pool and eating good food. The staff are fabulous and you can tell they really care about their guests. It was lovely seeing and chatting to the chef whilst they serve their delicious carvery. Thankyou guys for another great lunch

Big disappointment. We have visited before and were looking forward to a revisit. Sadly we were not happy this time. The waiter/barman was great doing everything- we ordered our food - one steak and ale pie, one beef burger and two tortellini. The pie was barely warm and tasteless and the steak was tough , burger and bacon cooked for far too long , chips were like crisps and the peas over-microwaved. The tortellini was ok but way too much salt. Such a shame - I did mention it to the waiter but obviously it wasn’t him that cooked it just served it . He apologised . It was very overpriced and overcooked.
