Amazing cocktails!

Thankfully the gorgeous cocktails were worth the wait because we did have to wait. The ladies for their cocktails and the gentleman for their pints. Cocktails I expect to wait for because they are made fresh to order with many ingredients and components but not the men's pints.

Went to Ruby’s and ordered beers. Didn’t know it was a cocktail bar, no clear signage to that effect. Very quiet for a Friday evening. Barman struggled to understand what ‘a pint and a half’ meant. No draught downstairs so we sat at our table and had to wait for beer to arrive. Eventually a waiter appeared, put a pint in front of me and seemed to ask my wife who the half was for although there was no-one else within ten feet of us. At the end, went to pay but struggled to get either bartender’s attention. Bartender who took our payment found it hard to understand what we were paying for. It was like visiting a pub on Mars.

Margot has made us some absolutely fantastic cocktails not the menu. WOW. Thank-

Expensive dishwater. Stopped in with a group of friends for drinks and the initial welcome was friendly and helpful with a quick run down of the cocktail menu. Unfortunately, everything beyond this point was aweful. We ordered after approximately 10minutes, though we were ready to order almost immediately and told them so. 5 Cocktails and a beer took almost 25minutes to prepare, even though the rest of the bar was fairly empty. The quality of the cocktails was poor, and we think in at least 2 cases (Negroni and Sweet Manhattan) the cocktails were not as they should have been (perhaps out fault for not going completely from the menu). Of the cocktails we ordered off their menu, we joked the highest scoring was probably the "Dreadlock Holiday" at 5 out of 10 which was basically a MaiTai with almost no alcohol in it, so pineapple juice coloured with grenadine and a splash of rum, the others were so poor they were barely drinkable. Not at all what we expected of Padsteins only specialist cocktail bar. Only thing we did expect was the price tag, unfortunately unwarranted!

Chilled out, good selection of Cocktails and spirits, however poor selection of craft beers which was disappointing. Never had anything to eat so can't comment on the food.

Nice dog friendly cocktail bar, good selection of cocktails, nice atmosphere, a good selection of scotch and a few Japanese whiskey's. Table service was excellent, very attentive and helpful staff. We found it by accident as some stairs from St Petroc bistro took us to Ruby's Bar.

Lovely place for a drink before going to seafood restaurant. Although was very dusty and there was cobwebs on the lights. Hope they give it a clean soon

Not sure why we stayed to try the drinks. The bar staff were ignorant and rude!! Drinks took almost 25mins to come (2 cocktails and a glass of fizz), we wouldn't have minded as we were sat in the window watching the world go by, except when they arrived, one of the cocktails was so bad I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they had told me it were scooped out the bottom of the dishwasher!!! The bar was not overly busy (at least 3-4 tables empty). The fizz was not champagne and definitely open for a while.. all out terrible experience.

So many "cocktail bars" in Cornwall and they're utterly awful on the most part. This is the second bar in Padstow we visited where Cocktails had almost no alcohol and no desirable flavour to them. I'd rather spend my £20 on a fancy soap to suck on.

Great cocktail selection, very cozy for a wet evening in the summer, slow service but worth the wait.

Cosy little cocktail bar with a great selection of drinks. The atmosphere was good and the bartenders were happy to take requests for drinks if you didn’t fancy anything from the menu.

This bar is iconic for Padstow and every time we visit we have to stop off for a couple of drinks at Ruby's. The range of drinks is excellent and the atmosphere is a great start to the evening.

Have been before and has always been a bit pricey, however this experience was rock bottom. Bloody Mary that looked like a milkshake (even other customers asked what it was supposed to be), tasted nothing like a Bloody Mary and was garnished with lemon and an olive. The Long Island Iced Tea had short measures and we watched other drinks being made none of which appeared to have full measures of spirit until the two barmen realised we were watching them! At those prices you expect the full measure.

Lovely end to the night. Separate seating areas meant our group had its own private space. The bar man had amazing knowledge, and made suggestions, and the cocktails were gorgeous.
