Family birthday meal. Wheelchair access, high chair for the youngest. Lovely food and service. Will definitely visit again

Good food, although a little bit pricey, great service ,has a very nicely decorated dog friendly dining room separate from the main restaurant, which is a great idea , have been plenty of times, and will continue as its the only Stein venue you can eat inside with your pooches.

Excellent food and service at St Petrocs . I wish it was in our home town, I’d eat there every day . Go either a la carte or do the £26 set menu, which is great value.

Booked for lunch and, as long-standing diners here, St Petroc’s continues to deliver great food, service and ambience. The waiting staff were delightful, all the dishes we ate were beautifully executed and there was a good wine selection. Decent choice of fish dishes and non-meat alternatives. Nothing to dislike at all and look forward to return visit.

My husband and I had the Charity Lunch. 3 courses for £19.95 plus £2.50 per head for the St Petroc Homeless charity plus gratuity. Excellent food. Generous portions. Very pleasant staff. Highly recommend

We were staying overnight at the beautiful Seafood Restaurant, and thought we would try St Petroc's Bistro to gain a little more of the 'Stein' experience. The restaurant decor was very simple. There weren't many other diners that evening and therefore it was a bit echoey. The receptionist and waiting staff were professional and friendly. The BIG disappointment was the menu. It was uninspiring and lacking in imagination and choice; also very expensive for what we had. My husband ordered the Sea Bass Fillets with a beurre blanc sauce & frites. Vegetables are extra! It arrived with no garnish or panache and looked very unappetising. I had the Chargrilled Tuna Steak served pink. It looked beautiful but It was over cooked and fairly dry. The worst was, everything was sooooo salty! We did mention this to the waitress and she informed us the feedback would be given to the chef. Nothing else was said, we paid and left feeling disappointed and underwhelmed.

Came here today for my 50th birthday treat. Ordered a lot of tasty food!. Really delicious and the service was spot on, attentive without being too over the top. Liv served us and she was so lovely, remembering which cutlery we needed at every course. The recommendations were fab. Thank you once again.

Sadly not a great experience this time. Took a while to be welcomed (not sure we felt welcome) on entry. Once seated we were ignored for 30 minutes before I managed to catch a member of staff to ask for water and drinks. Food was ok but we weren’t as impressed as in previous visits. There were no visits to our table to offer wine refills etc which as it was my birthday I was well up for!Overall, the staff were friendly (when we did see them) but appeared disinterested and disengaged which is the reason we are unlikely to return. They did remove the cost of our drinks and service charge when we complained and seemed unsurprised and not at all bothered which is a huge shame.

No record of our booking, despite your email confirmation and our reply 'YES' to your previous day's text reminder. Just a shrug from reception and 'we can squeeze you in though'. And we did feel squeezed, with the poor service and average food. We love the Stein brand and have stayed / dined on at least 30 previous occasions at various locations. At £265 for a table of three, there are many other options at this price point. Paul Ainsworth's might be more accommodating next time...

A friend and I booked here as a treat for my birthday earlier in the year. We'd had 2 nights at fistral beach prior to staying at Rick's Cafe in Padstow. We were really looking forward to experiencing Rick's renowned menu. Our table was booked for 7.30pm. We ordered starters after 8pm and I know scallops are a special treat but £19.95 for 3 felt expensive but as we were at St Petrocs I thought it will be worth it. My friend order the fish soup for her main, which we eventually received well after 9pm after asking where they were. We didn't order desserts. We asked for the bill which also took a while and then the restaurant had emptied and no-one came to let us pay. We walked to the reception and asked kitchen staff if we could pay. All the waiting staff were in the office. The manager/concierge took our payment without acknowledgement of our wait. The waitress had removed the soup from the bill as my friend had gone past wanting it after ordering nearly 2 hours previously. Not the standard of service or experience expected. Disappointing took the shine off, although food was nice but not as outstanding as expected.

Visited the restaurant when we were down in Cornwall in Sept. The meal was very good and service was excellent. It's a relatively expensive meal though.

Absolutely excellent. The night before we had dined in the Seafood Restaurant, where previously we have had excellent meals, was a little disappointing so we were a little apprehensive about pour visit to St Petrocs Bistro We needn't have worried. From the outset the staff were friendly and helpful. Our waiter was very helpful in assisting with our wine selection, even providing a small sample of the wines we were deciding between. The ambience in the restaurant was nice and relaxed and the food excellent. Certainly worth another visit.

My wife and I came across this restaurant on our way from the car park to the harbour. Menu looked good so in we went. We went for the set 2 course meak with a glass of wine each. As starter I had the mackerel which was excellent - tasted very fresh. I had the lemon sole goujons as the main with french fries. Again beautifully cooked and presented. The decor and surroundings inside were tasatful, and the service was polite and attentive ( but not excessively. They added a discretionary 12.5% service charge on the bill which I thought waas a bit cheeky, but we enjoyed it so much that I agreed to it without question.

Our experience at St Petrocs was amazing from the minute we stepped in the door. The staff were very attentive and the food was excellent.

Nice building and interior. Fish/seafood was very fresh. Never had tuna steak tasting like this before. It was soft, tender and beautifully cooked a long with everything else. It felt like a special evening. Great experience from start to end.
