This was our first visit to Portwrinkle and we popped in to the Jolly Roger for a coffee on a sunny weekend day out to Finnygook beach. We were wowed by the beautiful terrace with it's well placed tables and fabulous views of the beach and coastline! What an idyllic spot! The cafe was beautiful, light and welcoming, with a varied menu and a selection of tasty looking cakes and pastries displayed on the counter. The cappuccino coffee was excellent. We loved the big wall of photographs of all the dogs who had visited the beach and cafe, that the proprietor Suzanne had thoughtfully taken the time and effort to create over the years for visitors. It was a lovely touch and fun point of conversation. Suzanne couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be returning very soon.

I was disappointed by this place. Given its setting I thought it would have tried harder. Instead I found it expensive but tired in its decor both in and outside. The loo’s lock was broken enough that locking it was not easy. There was a strong “can’t be arsed” feel to the place.

What a fabulous place with possibly the best views in Cornwall. We could not rate the welcome that we had high enough. We will be back again soon. Thank you Suzanne for your wonderful hospitality
