The summer bbq was excellent in food quality and value. We shared the house platter, it was enough for lunch. The food was authentic, was told that the bbq master is actually from the south in USA. We have not gone there for sunday roast yet, so cannot comment on it. I look forward to them opening up again for the next season.

We had a small private wedding breakfast here on October 4th 2023. The whole place was closed just for us and they were so accommodating and the service was second to none. They even played our Spotify playlist for us so the bride and groom could have their first dance. It was a magical day, the food was INCREDIBLE (if you like pork scratchings, you wont regret getting it. See photo!) and James could not have been more helpful, polite and brilliant, his hospitality and kindness was very much appreciated. Thank you James and the team for making our special day even more memorable ❤️ We love you guys!

Fantastic meal for four of us. Can’t recommend highly enough. The food had some amazing flavours throughout the courses and the wine was a perfect match for the meal. Good selection of dishes for adults and kids at very reasonable prices, we will definitely be coming back.

Just had dinner here (October 23) and had a lovely meal. Stunning old place and the menu gave plenty of options. Food was amazing (the burger was the best I’d had in a long time and the sausage starter was really tasty), good prices and great portions. But most of all the service was amazing. Alex and her team made us feel really at home and looked after us, our cockapoo and our 4 month old baby. We felt very valued and at home. Thank you for a lovely dinner!!

It's expensive but so is everything down this side of the country. Food was good not amazing I found my meal ok rest of the family liked there's. We had the waffle for pudding that was great. We tried to return all week to have just that again. The sharps cold river cider was very nice too. Setting is ok if there was nothing else there but there's a lovely looking stone building that would have been nice to be eating in. Would visit again

Yes, the planks of wood that you sit on in the Smoke Shack are uncomfortable. But the food was delicious! Having driven for 8 hours to get to Cornwall, this place was a real welcome for our dinner that evening. Staff were very friendly, would definitely return.

It is what you would expect from a Smoke Shack! An outdoor barn - assume freezing in evenings/autumn. If you are expecting the pub then it is most definitely not! It is next door. Simple menu mostly BBQ. We went for lunch and had a BBQ box each. It was very tasty and plentiful great for lunch.
The Smoke Shack - Absolutely delicious food, flavour flavour flavour from our first mouthful of BBQ buttermilk chicken box, the melt in your mouth classic burger, the Buttermilk burger with Korean sauce to the waffle deserts - the chocolate waffle and the biscoff waffle. Also they make an excellent cup of tea. So from our family a full round of applause, for great value served by friendly staff, we will definitely be back

Was looking forward to my birthday meal before going to the circus as the food last summer was outstanding. But unfortunately not on this occasion. Staff are lovely & helpful & setting is good but the food was dry & unappetising & not cheap! We won’t return.

Lovely setting, great ambiance and very nice staff.Would have liked another beer after food was served but waitress did not return.Had been looking forward to going here for ages but found the chicken burger to be quite bland- no salad and rather dry.Will go again to try their smoked pork....hopefully that lives up to their fantastic reputation.Kid-friendliness: Nice garden for children to play in.

Had a surprise visit to the fox's revenge. Bring from Hereford we know what crazy food you can get with burgers... having the Beefy Boys in our midst.I had the chilli burger which had great flavours. You could taste everything. Nothing was masked by another flavour. Had large slices of gherkins in the base. Lush pink beef patty with chilli mince, jalapeños and not sure if was cheese slice or cheese sauce as it was well melted. Came in a lovely black plastic and wide basket/bowl with a parchment like paper on the bottom. Fries were very crunchy which isn't always a bad thing... but watch out just in case ?Hubby had the Ultimate Fox's burger. He would have that again so it was great. Pink patty with Belly pork which was MOST tender with lush crackling... very crisp. Belly pork had been slow cooked in a water bath which rendered it to an amazing softness, keeping all the flavours !! So... beef patty, Belly pork, mac n cheese, melty cheese and gherkins. Burgers are with a nice broiche bun. Had a side of maple coleslaw which was shared. Very nice !!!Staff were lovely and friendly. Molly looked after us and she had the most amazing smile.We can't see wheelchair accessibility but that's not to say there isn't any. The pub is not being used apart from the loo. You have steps to walk up to the shack.We didn't smell of BBQ smoke. It's quite open !!Can you tell we enjoyed out visit ?Can't wait to try one of their LOADED fries options. Maybe the butter chicken gravy one.All well worth the money. Many thanks guys xxx

Arrived from a local Airbnb with low but hopeful expectations having read recent reviews. Unfortunately we were indeed disappointed to find very over priced menu, no atmosphere in the cold shed and main pub shut ( only opens on Sunday) After a drink we left and found a much better option in a local village! Don’t bother
