Unacceptable behaviour , very rude and unprofessional, they didn’t even want us to book, not sure why the business is open, my wife asked for availability and was rudely told not accepting any bookings at the moment by the old weird owner, who kept looking at my younger daughters up and down , luckily the restaurant next door was opened and we managed to save our evening with a lovely family run place. Stay clear!!!

Something of a Penzance Tradition having been in business for at least 40yrs, run chef Roger Harris with his wife running the front of house. Not a massive menu and centred around seafood, everything is beautifully cooked by Roger in a traditional French style. The restaurant is small and intimate with decor that has never changed but this is great as you always know what you are going to get.Great food and friendly efficient service, never had a bad meal in 30yrs somewhere you can always rely on.

We came to Harris's during our weekend stay in Penzance. The food was absolutely amazing. We had the terrine starter & scallops. The fillet steak (cooked to perfection) and the lobster, followed by the chocolate tarte and lemon soufflé. Thoroughly enjoyed the Thyme sorbet pallet cleanser (I would have ordered more if it was a menu option!). The service was excellent and everyone was very friendly. Highly recommend the Amaretto too, it was delicious. Would definitely eat here again. Excellent food, without being pretentious.

We come down to Penzance at least 3 times per year to our holiday bungalow at Kenegie Manor. This year saw our 50th wedding anniversary and as a present my brother treated us to dinner at Harris's. Tucked down a side street (New Street) off Market Jew Street we have never previously noticed this establishment. The front of house staff were very welcoming and knowledgeable. For starters we had Cornets of smoked salmon with fresh Newlyn white crab meet followed by grilled fillet steak with bearnaise sauce (me) and Roast monkfish on saffron risotto. We finished the meal with creme brulee. All dishes were beautifully presented and extremely tasty. Surprisingly the sauté potatoes accompanying the main meal were fantastic. It was a wonderful meal to celebrate our anniversary. We will be back next time we are down.

We had dinner at Harris's while visiting from London. The restaurant is wonderful in so many ways. The food is superb (especially the crab salad entrée and the desserts); the staff are lovely; and the restaurant is beautifully quaint, particularly because it seats only a small number of tables. I strongly recommend it!

The food was absolutely excellent , we had the pate that was delicious , and a dessert made of berries and white chocolate ice cream that had excellent presentation and flavour . All made by the chef .The service was impecable .The decoration is rather dated but is neat .

One of the best restaurants we have visited. Even though the choice is limited the meals were delicious. We selected all of the four courses for 2 dinners; JohnDory, Dover Sole. Fillet Steak and Monkfish, they were excellent. The starters and sweets were superb as well. The restaurant is small and the staff are very welcoming.

Fabulous Seafood Menu made it difficult to choose, ànd it didn't disappoint. I don't usually opt for Desert, all three courses were outstanding. Great Wine Menu too and perfect Ambience and service. Thank You

We visited this restaurant for a belated anniversary meal. Our starter was a crab salad which was absolutely delicious. A superb salad dressing. We were then served a mouth refreshing thyme sorbet. For mains my wife chose the whole John Dory and I had the monkfish, both courses expertly cooked and well presented. All in all another great meal at a great restaurant which has been in the same hands for over 40 years.

My husband and I were really disappointed with our meal. My starter, scallops, was more salad with a sauce that did m not go with the scallops. We both took lobster, it was over cooked and lacked flavour. Our most expensive meal during our week around Cornwall and was the worst unfortunately. We follow and eat in many Michelin star restaurants and unsure how this restaurant managed to make the grade. We were really looking forward to trying this place out. The staff were friendly and efficient

Called to ask them if there is any available table, did not hear the the waiter over the phone because of the bad signal, so I asked twice. The waiter answered my question in a very rude manner and being extremely impatient. I understand the restaurant could be really busy during lunch/dinner hours, but it is not the reason being so impatient and so rude to customers. Very bad experience. Would not recommend and would not go there.
