2 Strand, Newlyn, PenzanceThe fish is priced at £8.5, while the chips range between £3-£4 depending on the size. Admiral Benbow
46 Chapel St, PenzanceWe found the Admiral Benbow by chance on a walk around Penzance but had heard about it and decided to visit for Sunday lunch. Well...Best decision ever!!We were greeted by really lovely people including the landlord. The atmosphere from decor-so quirky, to music-very chilled, was perfect.But....the food! The Sunday lunch was epic. I had roast chicken and my partner belly pork. The meat was moist and tender, the Yorkshire was huge and so soft and tasty The roast potatoes were also crisp and soft inside and the vegetables were also so well cooked and a good variety. Well done Admiral Benbow, so impressed ! ??

The White Hart
Church Hill, Ludgvan, PenzanceWent for Sunday lunch on Mother's Day around two in the afternoon with my wife. Rather naively, I thought the pub would be starting to be a bit quieter, but the staff were rushed off their feet with a jam-packed pub. Even so, the staff did a fantastic job at finding us a quiet table (we had our dogs with us) and serving us in double quick time. We had roast beef sirloin with all the trimmings with lemon tart and pecan tart to follow, all of which we enjoyed enormously. In short, it is a lovely pub, has a lively atmosphere, brilliant staff and all for a very reasonable price.

New Delhi Indian Palace & Ricardos Pizza House
1 Taroveor Rd, Penzance10 of us went here to eat because half of the group wanted Indian, and half pizza! As it is mostly takeaway, our party took up the whole restaurant, which was perfect. To be honest, I didn't think the food would be brilliant, as how can you do 2 very different things well, but I was wrong and it all was delicious. The pizzas were some of the best I've ever tasted and the Indian food was great too. The staff were super friendly and accommodating and we had a lovely evening.

The Garden Bar & Restaurant
Hotel, Britons Hill, PenzanceWe absolutely loved it on a quiet Wednesday in July. The room is beautiful and it's all very comfortable. There are great views. We had fantastically friendly service. And, most importantly, the food was lovely. Strongly recommend the seafood platter. The sizzling brownie and tres leches cake were both fantastic. Drinks perhaps a bit expensive but overall we paid £60ish for two people (mains and desserts), which was well worthwhile for a lovely evening out.

Service was very good but one of the waiters needs to go to English classes as he struggled with the lingo. The Crown
1 Victoria Square, PenzanceWondering around we stumbled on The Crown up a side street and on the corner of residential square, it is reminiscent of small bars you would find in the outskirts of European towns. A nice selection of beers on tap from the brewer and owners Cornish Crown. For purely research purpose we tried the three cask beers and all were excellent, served at a good temperature and perfectly poured. The bar is small but not overly so, very clean and there were even fresh flowers on the tables. The outside seating is on the edge of the square and is a great sun trap. The young woman behind the bar was friendly and pleasant. Definitely worth seeking out if you are in Penzance, it is only a couple of minutes from the train/bus station. Thoroughly recommended and somewhere we will definitely be returning to when we are in the area.

Mackerel Sky Seafood Bar
New Rd, Newlyn, PenzanceI had to try this place out on my return familyvisit to Newlyn, the reviews looked good and good photos fantastic.THE GOOD: the food is absolutely fresh, delicious, and a very interesting menu. Something for every kind of seafood lover. I had the katsu lemon sole and my word, it was wonderful. Nice local Cornish beer to go with it as well. They do small plates rather than big mains so you can easily try a few things. Waitress was friendly and made sure we were sheltered in the rain - despite having an outside table on a grey day, they have cover and heaters which is great.THE NEED TO KNOW: this isn’t a big place, or somewhere to come for a large family sit down meal. It is small, and they serve small plates with the intention to turn over tables quickly. Nothing wrong with this at all, it’s a perfect lunch stop on a busy day visiting Penwith, but good to understand if you’re planning to make a trip after seeing the good reviews/photos - make sure it slots into your day and that it won’t be a long lunch.4 STARS: the food and place is great. I have knocked off a star as it is quite expensive for what it is. My Newlyn ancestors will be turning in their grave somewhat.

The Dock Inn
The Mission, 17 Quay St, PenzanceHad a lovely experience here. ☺️ Ended up here accidentally when looking for a place to eat without any success. They weren't doing food, but the bar staff and locals were super helpful in trying to guide us to places that might be able to feed us. Nethertheless, we decided to stay here and have a drink and some crisps while playing games (frustration and pop up pirate) that were available for us. It was a very homely feeling place, and the bar man offered to share his holiday chocolate gift with my girls as we were missing our late lunch. Felt very taken care of and welcomed here. Highly recommend if you are on the outskirts of Penzance, right on the coast, and looking for a local pub. Nice beer to top it off, too. I had the potion No.9. Lovely. Thank you.Rooms: We didn't stay here so can't say.Nearby activities: Very close to Penzance Town and the sea front, shops and harbour.Walkability: We caught the bus into Penzance from Mousehole that day, but it's an easy walk into and around Penzance from here.Food & drinks: They weren't serving food, but the bar snacks were good with nuts and crisps and such. They had a nice, varied selection of drinks.Noteworthy details: Very friendly welcoming local pub. Amazing barman who makes you feel at home away from home.

The Orangery
Penlee House Museum/Penlee Park, PenzanceWe had noticed this cafe on a previous visit, and as we were all hungry decided to stop off for some lunch here. My partner and I had sandwiches and our daughter had a half sandwich. The bread was delicious and so fresh, it was simple but exactly what we wanted. We even took some yummy cake home too. Thank you so much to the friendly staff. We will certainly be back again.

Mr Billy's
13-14 Market Pl, PenzanceAlways worth writing a review again as it confirms the constently excellent standards of service and food remain. So many place we have been to, standards have slipped for a variety of reasons. Not here. To produce such great food in such a small kitchen is amazing. The consistency when we were there of the staff ( and owners) is exemplary. Our go to place when in PZ.
