Rough atmosphere and patchy food offer: I went on a May weekday evening in 2023 looking for a quick reliable meal in reasonable atmosphere. I normally get this with no problems in the Truro equivalent,OK,cheap and cheerful but predictable.The food availability was limited- no baked potato or coleslaw for example. The replacement salad,a good try, looked as if it had been roughly chopped with garden shears, though healthy enough . The youngish staff were polite and flexible about the food but stuggling, up against supply problems and what already seemed to be a number of heavy drinkers at 8pm ,one of whom was meandering around without any effort by staff to indicate he'd had enough. The atmosphere was that of skid row and we looked out the least troubling space in the smokers' courtyard at the back. . There are social problems in Penzance and Wetherspoons seemed to have attracted at least its fair share of them that day.I think the maagement of the place needs looking into.

doorman wouldn't let me in wasn't even drunk - can only guess its some lousy game doormen play in passing time to feel empowered. seen doormen smoking a joint out there before and people absolutely steaming drunk and off their heads allowed to go back and forth up to strangers jibbering etc? do as i say not as i do what kind of staff policy is that?

This Spoons has gone downhill big time. Dirty, dark sticky floors, tables, menus. Lunchtime and the main customers seem to be a lot of old chaps who are coughing so much they might best be directed off to a TB ward. The food was actually horrible, which is inexcusable. Yuk, Yuk, Yuk. Avoid this place as it doesn't even cut cheap and cheerful anymore.

Cheeky vegan brekkie, you know what you're getting at a spoons. Cheap grub that fills you up What was nice about this one is the fact the kitchen manager came to our table to apologise for the food being another ten minutes. A totally reasonable amount of time to wait for food, but GGWP for him coming to tell us ?

Popped in with family. Good food and service but too much swearing and drunks chucking down the cheap alcohol. Not nice for a family holiday.
