Actually called " The Upper Deck" so don't be fooled like me looking for the Taproom.Lovely views, friendly staff and great location! Would definitely recommend stopping in there if nearby. Didn't have any food at the time as we were in a rush but the menu had a few things that sounded delicious so hopefully will be going back.

Arrived at the Tap for pre dinner drinks having been previously on many many occasions. Asked to sit indoors due to the weather - we were told only outside on the terrace with a dog… that’s fine, However - already people sat inside with a dog! Pointed this out to staff, who said they would resolve… didn’t return to explain. Shocker - won’t be returning… non dog friendly in rock (depending who you are?)…. Really?

We can see from some previous reviews that some folk have casually left wicked ratings and reviews of this establishment. We understand things have not been easy staffing wise and everything else along the rocky road of Covid times for these guys and many others. For the second time we have visited this place, both today and last summer everything was spot on on every level. Parking close by and there is a disability use lift which we used for my step-father as it is on the first floor of the building, bonus and makes for a great view of the estuary and the comings and goings of boats and wild life. No establishment can be everything for all people, these guys do what they do and they do it really, really well. Long may you continue guys.

My friend and I had been over to Padstow on the ferry and after a wander around looking for a suitable lunch venue decided that as almost everything was closed we would come back to Rock. Leaving the ferry we saw The Taproom. A quick look at the menu and we went for it. A great setting with views across the estuary. No table available out on the balcony ( a great shame as the weather was stunning) so we sat near a window. We chose our drinks and pondered the menu both going for a pizza. Good choice. The service by the only person working out front was outstanding. So helpfull and friendly and cheerfull. A lovely experience.

The food at the Taproom is amazing!!! The fish curry is so delicate and tasty! I had it twice and the chef just goes with his inspiration so the second time was slightly different but still so delicious! The staff are really friendly and the view over towards Padstow at sunset is gorgeous! I am coeliac so needed gluten free, but nearly everything on the menu was ok for me!

Booked for drinks (on the day) ahead of dinner at another restaurant, when we arrived they were closed. We asked the manager of the place next door who said they often closed early when it was quieter. I suggest some serious rethinking if you think it's okay to not let your guests know! Why bother taking my number down!!!

5 of us turned up with a dog on a busy day in Rock. We had also left our masks in the car. The waitress was really friendly telling us not to worry and got a table cleared and cleaned in a few minutes. It was mid afternoon and we didn’t expect much in the way of food but the full menu was available. We had the vegetarian tacos and a Pizza, All were really good. There was a lovely atmosphere - Hawaiian themed. A lovely end to the day.

We had dinner here tonight. The sun set over the estuary as we ate some lovely Asian food prepared on the premises. I had a tasty Asian fish curry and my friends had tasty dumplings and frites thermidor which were delicious. Service was friendly and attentive. Food was original and reasonably priced. Thanks for a memorable evening.

There were eight of us in our party having pre-booked for food and drinks. Although the menu was limited due to staff shortages they pulled out all the stops and it was a memorable evening.Upon leaving we made a point of thanking the staff, in particular the chef who did an amazing job. We will return!
Absolutely loved this place,beef Malaysian curry with Asian veg. Monkfish Katsu curry both awesome. Highly recommended.

Booked this place for a special lunch while in area, months in advance, told them it was for 50th, got there to find it closed, no communication, zero, dropped me right in the mire I have e mailed them, left a message on face book, nothing, cant judge the foot, the Rock inn restaurant next door managed to fit us in at a minutes notice my advise is to go there, they actually bother with their customers, thanks for nothing

Do not go. We've heard mixed stories about this place, though our experience was very very negative. A large group of us went for dinner and had around 7-8 bottles of wine. When the bill came there were 12 bottles on it, and we quickly realised this was not an honest mistake! We watched a couple be asked to leave, as they were taking too long deciding about dessert and the owner wanted the table for "people that actually want to spend money" The food was good, service mediocre, but not worth the risk if you end up having to argue things off the bill that you didn't order or recieve and ruin your evening. 0 stars. Ignore at your own peril.
