Food was nice however, the cola was flat (suspect it was old as it was a newly opened bottle) and the service was beyond slow. Was seated at 7.30pm and advised there would be a small delay. Finally got our main meals at 9.00pm, I don't class that as a small delay, especially when they had walk in customers who were seated and had eaten after our arrival and they pumped out take aways all evening.

Food was very nice, however service was poor. Table booked for 7:30 but did not get our main meal until 9:00. Granted it was a busy Saturday night however other tables came and went?

Food tastes good. The toilets stink & are filthy. Makes you wonder about the kitchen. You can pretty much tell, dirty loo = dirty kitchen.

Will be reporting this place to Fsa and local authorities. They are breaking basic rules. Extremely concerned about the standards especially as they promote 5 food hygiene rating.Absolutely abysmal food. Not received the foods ordered to an acceptable standard. Not even the correct ingredients in the dishes apt.1) tiger prawn chillies fried. Was mainly onions and peppers and definitely not Tiger praens2) side of onion. Was diced carrot and cucumber3) vegetable curry with the biriani. Full of 2 types of carrot and sweetcorn. stalk from cabbage or caulifour. No taste.4) chicken biriani. Wasn't basmati rice. Looked like maggots to start with but could have been chopped noodle. No sign of the ingredients stated on the menu.5) meat platter. Was meat but definitely not the stated meats per menu. 4 lumps of meat and a samosa that did not resemble anything we had ever tasted before. On arrival to collect our meal screaming children welcomed us plus a very rude lady.3 times we tried to call to complain and twice greeted with screaming children and lady.We was told the food was not to our taste. No apology or no offer of a replacement meal to make amends.Told it didn't matter if we returned our food as it would make no difference to the outcome.WILL DEFINITELY BE MAKING COMPLAINTS TO RELEVANT AUTHORITIES

Ate in here recently and was left very underwhelmed. The food was less than average. We eat enough of this kind of food to know that each type of dish looks different from another. Everything we ordered could have been the same thing; meat sat in brown oily sauce. The taste did nothing to change my mind. The staff were pleasant enough as was the service provided but didn’t give any kind of impression that they had been trained properly or knew what they were doing. There was confusion over what 0% lager was or if they even had it and the person who took our order couldn’t tell us anything about the various dishes because she hadn’t eaten them. The cleanliness was questionable. The person who was waiting our table saw something on one of the plates and decided to wipe it with her hand, then the sleeve of her jumper before setting it down in front of my husband. There is not sufficient ventilation.During our meal we noticed that the air was filled with a haze and my eyes were stinging. It was coming straight out from the kitchen, and filtering through to the restaurant seating area. The floor tiles near the kitchen, stairs and toilet area are dangerously slippery. They weren’t wet, they were greasy! Our clothes smelled strongly of cooking oil and a week later it still lingered on our coats. The decor is shabby and there is no ambiance or atmosphere with subtle lighting etc.Felt a little like sitting in a waiting room.Over all not a great experience and left us wishing we hadn’t bothered. ?

Food isn't bad, I think the naan is a bit dense though to be fair. The rice is fine, samosas were okay... not great though.Always find with places such as this "Nepalese restaurant" that also serves Indian dishes... I'd generally avoid the Indian dishes as they won't be as nice. The Nepalese prawn dish I had was decent, I quite liked it. Very mild dish, but can't be going spicy on a work night lolService was not much to write home about, with only 3 customers you'd think the food would be quicker especially the poppadoms.Damn, though the atmosphere was poor. Its not the most inviting of restaurants. Kind of dingy up a rickety, sticky flight of stairs. Music which kept skipping which was driving me crazy I have to say. Doesnt particularly look very clean either to be honest. But for one night staying down in St Austell I don't mind. If I lived around here though it certainly wouldn't be my regular.

Very poor food. Mixed meat platter was hard to tell which meat was which and . Tiger prawns were like normal small ones dipped in hot chilli no taste.biryani was like noodles instead of basmati rice, had no chopped tomatoes. was honestly the worst I've ever had,I thought it was maggots moving on my plate. The chicken was really chewy. Very rude on the phone,no customer service skills and children screaming down the phone.

Ordered a delivery, what a farce, almost an hour late only to find my wife's order to be missing. The mixed grill was sent out again only to take almost another 45 minutes. The food was tepid and underwhelming, we won't be ordering again.

5/5 for this restaurant. Very welcoming and chatty staff! Biriyani is full of flavour and the naan bread is soft and fluffy! Definitely will visit again ?

We arrived early at Nepalese Gurkha Restaurant and were warmly welcomed by the staff. They were more than accommodating, even though we were early. The food was excellent, and we were not rushed at all. We would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic Nepalese dining experience.

We were passing through St Austell and were looking for a great Indian restaurant that served great vegetarian and vegan food. We thought we would give the Nepalese Gurkha Restaurant a try. It is not the most beautiful stairway up into a glamorous restaurant, but a simple decor and comfortable clean interior welcomes you. Our waiter was very professional and accommodating. As the food is made fresh, they were able to adjust dishes to suit the mildness for our children, while making other dishes superspicy for us adults. The food was authentic and delicious! Probably the best indian food we have had in a very long time - very very very good! And we were pleasantly surprised by the bill as it was alot lower than we expected, for such a good amount of really great food! We will be back. They were very busy with take-aways, so they must be established in the area.Dietary restrictions: Plant based diets and degrees of spicyness were easily and well accomodated.Kid-friendliness: Friendly to our children and had smaller bowls and plates when askedd.

Great meal here the other night. Staff were so welcoming. Excellent food and service. Would recommend a bottle of Gurka beer to go with your food.
