The Boathouse Charlestown
Charlestown Rd, Saint AustellGenuinely flawless food, utterly exceptional. Whatever they pay that chef is not enough. Even has a brilliant selection of vegetarian options, not the usual "swap meat for something else" style menu lots of places seem to offer but instead menu options that are crafted with no need of a "meat" to create a complete dish.Lovely chill atmosphere.Lass running the bar was everything you could want from a host, without being overbearing. Will be coming back, that's for sure.Vegetarian options: Amazing vegetarian options, far beyond the usual "meat replacement" options most places seem to offer.

It's obviously more of a takeaway than a restaurant, but that said, the restaurant area was spotless, and the one member of staff was excellent. You need to take your own beer or wine, but the excellent food more than makes up for this small inconvenience.

The Hewas Inn
Fore St, Sticker, Saint AustellWe arrived 10 minutes before serving closed but were greeted with a friendly smile and a menu. Our springer spaniel was welcome too. The choice of food and the specials covered a variety of preferences and there were options for smaller portions on some dishes which was perfect for me who frequently has to leave the food I can’t finish. The steak and ale pie with chips was good (my husband said) and my butternut squash ravioli and salad (as a starter portion- off the ‘specials’ board) was absolutely delicious and plentiful.

Salty Bay Pizza Kitchen
Business Park, Saint AustellWe read the reviews and thought, 'surely not'...over 280 5* reviews. No restaurant ever achieves that. Then we dined at the Salty Bay Pizza Kitchen (remember that name!) and realised why. The service is wonderful, the food is absolutely fantastic (so much so I forgot to take photos before diving in), the ambience is great, and EVERYONE in this restaurant is working so hard to make sure each food experience a good one. The constant work of the chefs in the kitchen did not go unnoticed. Our server was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The balance was perfect. This is what it takes to be the best.To find out this place is on our doorstep is one of our great finds of 2023. We will certainly return and work through the extensive menu.
