Just been for a Christmas Day lunch and total waste of my time and money. Veg either mushy or undercook. Everything else on plate looked out of a microwave or out of freezer and god only knows what happened to the gravy, as thin as water and no substance. And all that for a mere £90 a head. Absolutely disgraceful. This is my first and time of visiting this hotel.

Really lovely place to stay with truly amazing views. Room was great (again great view) , food really special and the team were super friendly and helpful. The owner (think his name was George?) went above and beyond in making our stay really special. Thank you.

Extremely disappointing…..hotel location is the main attraction with its sea view however…the decor is tired & in need of an upgraderoom could be cleanerused towels folded & put back on the towel rail to be reused! not a good policybreakfast is from 07.30 - 09.45 but if you choose breakfast after 09.30 then sausages & bacon will be miserable because they have been kept warm for a couple of hoursthe breakfast menu needs updating to show that mushrooms…normal field mushrooms that are on every other breakfast menu…are horrid little chopped up mushrooms..out of a tin?.The breakfast staff should be encouraged to leave residents to eat their breakfast in peace & to refrain from cleaning tables all around you with a Dettol spray!Customer satisfaction will only happen if the current owner bothers to address our complaint.

We booked the hotel and then read many reviews. The wrong way round but hey ho. On reading many of the reviews, we thought we had made a big mistake. We couldn't have been more wrong. Upon arrival, the staff were very welcoming. Our initial impression about the decor etc. was very good and there was nothing during our stay to change our minds. The room was spacious and everything worked ok, with as much hot water as you liked. Everywhere was spotless. We ate in the hotel restaurant on both evenings and the food was very good and the portions were substantial, as it was at breakfast time also. The hotel is ideally situated for a 15 minute walk down to the lovely Charlestown harbour. Would we stay here again? You bet we would.

Set in idyllic surroundings, the meal we had was superb, the staff are so helpful and nice. The only downside is that the place is a little dated, but that doesn't alter all the good points about this

Really looking forward to our couple of days away but left very disappointed. The hotel has magnificent views but it really needs some serious money spending on it. Allocated room 8 which was ok in size but needed a thorough clean, dust everywhere in bathroom, in all the slats, pipes etc. having said that everything worked. Also this room was over kitchen area so fan was very noisy with cooking smells coming into the room. Mattresses on the twin beds need replacing IMMEDIATELY. They were so soft and worn on the first morning I turned over to stop my alarm and slid out of bed onto the floor. Scrazed my arm but no serious damage but as a 78yrs old it could have been worse. They were dreadful to sleep on with no support whatsoever. Shower mat in bath needs replacing. Breakfasts were fine except tinned peaches and prunes to go with cereal, perhaps something a bit more tasty. Plenty of yoghurts but could not find any plain ones. Ate in the restaurant on both evenings, quite a limited menu choice, ie. only rump steak for example, but food was nicely prepared and presented. Decor not up to standard, paper peeling off walls and ceiling. The girl who checked us in and out was lovely, sorry did not get her name but she was so bubbly and friendly.

De kamer is gedateerd. Veel erger is de natte bedompte geur van schimmel op de kamer en in de gang. De locatie is geweldig, personeel is behulpzaam. Eten was ondermaats qua smaak en versheid.Rooms: Kamers zijn back to the nineties.

A very nice and traditional (in the positive sense of the word) hotel with beautiful coastal views. Good selection of drinks at the bar and breakfast was good. George was also very friendly and accommodating.

A lovely slightly old fashioned and traditional hotel which was comfortable, but had everything you need. The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. The views were amazing, and from our seaview bedroom window .The garden was sectioned and interesting. Unfortunately the weather wasn't brilliant so we didn't sit out there for long. The hotel is on the South West coastal path which is great for walkers. The location is perfect.I would definitely stay there again.

Great staff and very helpful, I felt at home immediately . Amazing tasting food. The rooms were very well maintained. Close to the best beach I have visited! I will definitely be coming back the next time I visit Cornwall!

Friendly, helpful, and efficient staff. Clean and well equipped room. My breakfast was excellent. I didn't have a full dinner in the restaurant, but I opted for something small to eat whilst in the bar, and that was excellent too. I'm happy with the price I paid.
