This is an essential visit. Relaxed surroundings, great attentive staff and excellent food. Certainly the best culinary experience we had in our visit to Rock / Padstow. Thank you.

We visited mid week in off-peak season and the place was packed. Inside the premises has a very relaxed sophisticated decoration. From the outside it could easily be overlooked but I believe this place does well following on from a good reputation and word-of-mouth. The food was exceptional not an extensive menu but varied enough to give options to everyone. We were touring the Southwest and ate in many fine restaurants over a period of two weeks Including Michelin star restaurants and The Dinning Room was one of the highlights for me, very well priced fine Dining in a relaxed atmosphere. Would highly recommend to anybody travelling in the area

We visited the restaurant, 3 people for a family get together. The venue was spotlessly clean, the staff were welcoming and friendly. The meal was superb and my wife’s dietary issues were dealt with very well. A splendid evening

The menu is small which is a good sign of a quality meal and this is proved to be no exception. Delicious fine dining in a warm and relaxed atmosphere. Aside from the 2 or 3 course menu choices, the canapes and amuse bouche which are all complimentary extras really added to the taste sensations we experienced. Excellent value for money.

Visited with husband whilst staying in the area. Beautiful restaurant and warm welcome from the staff and owner. The food was exquisite from the amuse bouche to the main - we didn’t sample desserts.

went with a party of eight and everything was perfect from start to finish. Cannot speak highly enough of ambiance, staff and of course the food (although food seems such an inadequate word for what we ate)

I last visited The Dining Room back in 2014. It's still in the same capable hands and our party enjoyed a fantastic meal there at the weekend. The service was efficient and impeccable from start to finish. We were greeted at the door, shown to our table, and everything ran like clockwork thereafter. The food was exceptional. The pre-starters, breads and amuse bouche were exquisite, and we indulged in three courses, with sea bass to begin, lamb for the main course, and rhubarb compote for dessert. Every course was prepared to perfection and carefully presented. I felt that the food was very fairly priced given the high quality, although perhaps the wine list was a tad pricey. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our evening and won't leave it for 8 years before going back next time! Highly recommended.

Fantastic meal, amazing service. There’s a really relaxed atmosphere, whist still feeling special. The food is tremendous; really balanced courses with fantastic surprise amuse bouche and pre-starter. We’ve been several times over a few years and always found the standard to be consistently great. This is the restaurant I chose above all others in Rock and Padstow.

I cannot recommend the dining room highly enough. The food is absolutely delicious. 5 star! We are huge foodies and this was the best meal we have had in a very long time. In fact my starter was one of the most delicious dishes I have ever eaten. Donna and her staff looked after us beautifully. The Dining Room is a truly special place.

This restaurant was amazing from start to finish. I booked for Valentines day and had contact throughout about preferences and tastes. My wife was pregnant at the time and they took this into account for us.Then on arrival the restaurant was cosy and bright. There was a good atmosphere and we were welcomed inside. The food however speaks for itself. I think my eyes lit up with every bite and the flavours were all perfect and went together so well! I had the Venison which was exquisite. Its a shame I live 300 miles away from this restaurant or I would return as often as possible!!

Firstly the ambience, clean smart comfortable and peaceful surroundings. One could detect an atmosphere of confidence and buoyed by the amazing trip advisor ratings I was confident that I had made the correct choice. The food and quality of the ingredients was nothing short of superb. It would be unfair to single out any specific dish, all were delightful. That said the fennel starter will endure in my memory - so clever! The chef in my opinion is at the top of his profession. A very well managed and intelligently developed product. The menu is not over large which enables the staff to give maximum attention to detail in this small to medium restaurant. A big thank you-I shall have to bring my wife next time!!

When arriving, we were a bit worried as the outside of the restaurant wasn’t the most compelling but we were pleasantly pleased once entering. The food was soooo very nearly 10/10. I went for Trout for starter and Venison as a main whereas my mother went for the Bass and then the pork. Fresh ingredients, beautifully plated, it just wasn’t hot. We weren’t sure whether this was how it was supposed to be (due to the amount of time it took to plate?!) or if it was just a bit cold! We didn’t send the food back as it was still delicious. The waitress was attentive and knowledgeable, though maybe a bit nervous? Totally understandable though as there are lots of ingredients and processes to remember. Will definitely be coming back next time we’re in the area - hopefully in a different season to try a different array of meals.

Totally amazing dining experience. Stunning food artistically presented. Lovely ambience with attentive yet unobtrusive service. Would highly recommend for a super special evening.

We visited on a Saturday night and the restaurant was obviously full. The owners are great hosts (you can tell they develop relationships with regular guests) and also knowledgeable of the menu and can explain all the dishes very well. We had two courses each and wine. We’re also offered canapés and amuse-bouche (that spiced pumpkin soup was delightful). There are four options for starters and mains which in my opinion is great since a short menu raises the expectations in terms of execution. We had the artichoke risotto for starter followed by hake and pork for mains. All dishes are very well thought and complete in terms of flavours, sauce, textures. Execution was spotless. Fantastic meal overall. The only development point (not enough to miss the 5 stars of course) is the wine list where I felt some more/less popular winemaking regions are under/over-represented given the length of the list.
