Maltsters Arms
Chapel Amble, WadebridgeThe definition of a classic Cornish hamlet pub in terms of atmosphere with a menu fit for an upmarket restaurant. The owner is very clearly as passionate as they come in regards to providing the best possible experience, even contacting me personally to iron out details about our visit that resulted in us having an even more enjoyable time. Despite being a traditional pub with an open fire, there wasn't a cobweb or dusty light bulb in sight, the place is immaculate. The food is fantastic and very reasonably priced for the quality and portion size, our meal came out to less than £75 and that included three course, one being a steak. The menu is exactly what you'd expect from a pub with the addition of another 7 or 8 items you wouldn't expect to see.If you want a traditional Cornish, dog friendly pub meal they do not come better than this, will be back again very soon.

Cheap Eats
Malcolm Barnecutt Bakery Molesworth Wadebridge
18 Molesworth St, WadebridgeAfter taking the challenge of having 1 pasty a day during our Cornwall holiday and inevitably sampling pasties from multiple bakeries (which had to supply gluten free options in order to be eligible), the family decided that the traditional pasties from Malcolm Barnecut were consistently at the top of the leaderboard (regular & GF pasties). They offer both freshly baked pasties (have to wait 1.5hrs though for gluten free - so plan ahead), or you can take frozen pasties home to bake in your oven (we tried both options & both were equally as good). Fantastic tasting pasties! ?

Best Restaurants
Stepping Stone
Polmorla Rd, WadebridgeAs a family we have been fortunate enough to eat here many times and last night (Valentines Day) we returned as a family of four, The food was incredible, service friendly and efficient and the value for money is unbelievable. I can't speak highly enough of the restaurant, not only great for a posh grown up meal out but also well worth noting that Stepping Stone has the best children's menu of any restaurant I have ever eaten at.

The Point at Polzeath
St Minver, WadebridgeLast weekend I visited The point swimming pool and Bear Café.The swimming pool had better days, chaotic changing facilities, and disabled toilet for men to use. My boys waited 15 mins to get change to be able to get into the pool. The pool water temperature was too cold for winter time. The young blond lady (sorry didn't get her name) at the leisure reception was lovely. The Bear Cafe - service from waiting ladies was very polite and quick, friendly.
