Having asked to speak to the manager after hearing some aweful remarks from a member of staff, we were completely and utterly shocked to find out that the member of staff in question was In fact the general manager!!! I'd recommend avoiding if you don't conform to chauvinism, and may be offended by perverse innuendo.

Came here last night. We come to Cornwall in this area a lot but have never been to this pub. It’s really lovely and quite contemporary on the inside. We had booked a table and were promptly seated and given menus and drinks order taken. There were 5 of us and had starters and mains - whitebait, chicken wings, chorizo sausages and 2 soups- all delicious. Then prawn pizza, scampi, fish and chips and 2 seafood curries (the curry was delicious) everyone really enjoyed their food and the serving staff were lovely. I couldn’t fault the place and can’t wait to return.

Most delicious relaxed supper with a great team making sure our family reunion on this special evening was perfect. All food choices were well presented and nothing disappointed. We appreciated the bubbly to mark our anniversary and just had a wonderful evening.

Went here last year and was mediocre so we gave it another chance again this year.We were very disappointed as service took over an hour and food was much below expected. The choices were very limited and similar. The chicken curry was tough and plain and the sauce was bland and tasted like it had been there for a while. We were disappointed as nothing was fresh and wasn't that cheap either.

Warm, cosy, lovely fire on a miserable winters night. Absolutely perfectly cooked fish and chips and the beef burger was delicious. Happy helpful staff. What's not to like?Food & drinks: Great choices on the menu. Pub food at its best

We were a party of 10 on a Sunday evening our food was poor the roast was microwaved and mine even had a tue sticker in it ! It wasn’t that hot either. The chicken burger my son had he said had like a lump of gristle in it . The staff were like we were an inconvenience for them my husband had the fish curry and found hair in it . We had puddings and they were not that much better either . Our meals came out slow they were not all brought out together it was a real shame as we are local but won’t be going again .

Had Sunday lunch today. Food and service was fine, but we felt we were eating at the dogs home . There were dogs at ever table. We do not think dogs should be in a restaurant, but at least limit it to less dogs than people

We visited for lunchtime, I had a prawn pizza that’s was okay. But my wife had mackerel pate the toast could not be eaten due to it being rock hard. She didn’t want to damage her teeth!!!

After having read the reviews - we visited - lovely snack and drink after the long drive . Asked about Sunday Roast told we DIDNT have to book just turn up it was available all day . Great we thought - but oh no - we nipped over at 6:50 and told no problem that we would - freshen up and be about 10 - 15 mins . We returned just on 7:05 pm - to be told - no more walk ins … so we went hungry . Thanks Pityme .

Good service and fitted us in without a booking but pizza was a bit tough and not much cheese and roast dinners were nice but very small and not a lot off veg.

We visited for dinner having just arrived for a long weekend. The service was pretty poor to be honest, the staff weren’t terribly friendly but we were seated and ordered drinks and some starters. The starters came before our drinks which wasn’t ideal, I had to get up and go to the bar and check our drinks were coming. Our mains then arrived, which were fine, although my pork was a little tough, we’d asked for a bottle of wine when the mains arrived, but again I had to get up and ask for the wine as we were already half way through our main courses. Oh and those tacky walkie talkie ear pieces were nearly dangling into the food when it was being served. Haven’t been here for a while and won’t rush back.

Have not stayed however have visited for both breakfast and lunch.Quality locally sourced food at a good price. Portions are of a good size and variety on menu, with different requirements catered for.All food was well presented and tasted brilliant. Had the full vegi breakfast and one of the best in a long time.
