Sublime, unassuming well crafted ingredients with a relaxing and no fuss. Authentic Japanese food and ingredients with people who are truly in the business of hospitality and creating extremely good Japanese food. This place is most definitely one of the best experiences we have had in a long time, the guy's here don't shout about what they do, they are showing in practice how it should be done in the Japanese way.

This place the food is extremely well prepared an extremely fresh. We were explained every course and where the produce was from, the attention to detail and such a friendly atmosphere. Such a breath of fresh air, in a sea of modern eateries that are such a bland experience these days. Definitely worth a visit, we booked well in advance, and it was worth the wait. The Specially imported Kobe beef was sublime. A full evening of delicious culinary adventures.

Excellent authentic Japanese street food. Small and personal, more like eating in their home than a restaurant. Probably not good if you don't like raw fish as this is 80% of the menu. Highly recommended for those who do though. Quite expensive but you get your monies worth in food.Edit: Owners got back to me to say they can cater for vegan and vegetarian diets as well so now you have no excuse, give them a try.

A superb evening at this restaurant. We had the chef’s set meal where every course is a wonderful and distinctive dish. As always, the hosts provide a wonderful atmosphere in which to share a unique dining experience. Having previously eaten at their original restaurant in Leamington we were recognised and welcomed into their Ambleside establishment. An authentic taste of Japan, with the highlight being our plate of Kobe Beef. We shall be returning again on our next visit to the Lake District.

What a surprise. We had such an enjoyable night here. The food is excellent, you must try the beef it melts in your mouth. Chef is not stingy with the portions. You are not rushed out. If you haven't got a sense of humour then this restaurant is not for you, the hostess is a breath of fresh air. We will be back for sure.

Loved our dining experience at Auradaze. Every one of the 8 courses was perfection. From Scottish Salmon sushi to Scallops from Nova Scotia, everything tasted amazing.Darren and Laura are great hosts and make everyone feel welcome in a comfortable and cosy atmosphere.

This was by far the best Japanese “experience” we have ever had, and that includes living in the East for many years. The whole atmosphere from walking in the door, through the exquisite meal, the friendly and informative service explaining each course, to feeling as though you have spent the evening with friends. We will definitely visit every time we return to the Lakes.

Absolutely amazing experience. Putting your trust in the chef “omakase” without seeing a menu, to provide an 8 course tasting menu was a gamble. But how well it paid off. I have had many Japanese meals in London and non provide such an immersive experience and value for money as this. If you love Japanese food and want to experience sushi and sashimi beyond what mainstream restaurants offer then this is the place to be. It is NOT a restaurant it is a special dining sitting made up in the deli shop which makes it very intimate. You need to book well in advance to get one of the very few tables on offer each weekend. 6 out of 5 star rating. No photos in this review as guests are encouraged not to use mobile phones to enhance the dining experience.
