We popped in here for a coffee and scone. We sat outside with our dogs, dog water was already out. The scones were lovely, slightly warm with a fresh baked taste to them. The coffee was perfect too. It was just what we needed. The staff member was also very helpful. Would definitely call in again.

Not great, lady serving said she was too busy to take an order without a table number - despite only 6 tables to choose from and my saying we would look out for it. Walked back downstairs out of building to garden to check table number then soup was salty and scone was damp (microwaved?)

The welcome when we came in was cold, as if we were a nuisance. Asking for a 'frothy' cappuccino was a step too far! They asked us what our table number was and we said we didn't know as we were going to sit outside and it was empty out there at that time. The man said "Just guess the number" rather impatiently as if we knew roughly how the tables were numbered and I wish I'd said 203,956. The atmosphere between staff was awful and the coffee wasn't great. Outside seating near the ghyll should have been lovely but there was rubbish everywhere (it was only 9:30am). Don't bother if you would like a warm welcome and a pleasant ambiance

A lovely little café, there were plenty of seating options (outside in the shade or not, or a quieter corner table inside or larger low table. Staff were excellent and very welcoming, would have loved to have had a cake as they looked fantastic but we were still full from our lunches earlier!They also have a dog wall of fame, absolutely wonderful (see photo!)

Without doubt the worst customer service we have experienced. The staff were so unfriendly our kids literally refuse to visit Ambleside again!! Little surprise this unique and beautiful terrace was empty. should have known …If it looks to good to be true… it was!! We arrived for lunch carrying coffee cups and the staff welcomed us instructing that we don’t drink the coffee there and to take the cups with us. That was our welcome. After spending £40 on lunch the staff member then instructed that my daughter moved from a chair next to us as she was next to a vacant table. The terrace was empty and she was sitting there, while we waited for the food to arrive. The food was good, location lovely but the staff need to reconsider their career choices. Such a shame !!

The worst Costomer service ever.They ask us to leave.We have order 3 American and tea with 2 cakes and we grab sandwiches from another cafe and they say we have to leave id we eat the sandwiches.
Just the most idyllic spot- having a breakfast roll with the sound of water was perfect. Staff were lovely.Had to get a mug too.. so cute- especially the one with a frog ?

Asked for a table number which I forgot to get and the young man on the till refused until I went back down stairs and outside and then back up to tell him the number of the table he would of know being a waiter and the 3 or 4 other staff stood next to him doing nothingI told them exact which table it was and still would not serve me.Disgusting to say the least.
