Excellent service, friendly staff, welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. Choice of continental or full English Breakfast. Evening dinner is worth the value too. My stay was comfortable at The Premier next door and breakfast every morning at Brewers Fayre was a great way to start my day. The staff will accommodate your needs. I have stayed at the hotel and ate in Brewers Fayre many times and nothing is too much trouble for any of them.

Food was rancid, rude staff and food felt like it gave me food poisoning, not a good atmosphere at all to be completely honest. Everything felt rushed and messy. Will not be returning due to my experience the first time.

Went here for our tea on a midweek trip away over Christmas. Ordered starters, mains and desert and all the food was lovely. Came quickly, was hot and tasty. Also a good price too. The staff were nice and helpful. Would come again

our 5th year for Xmas dinner at Barrow in Furness however will be our last...prawn cocktail starters we counted 7 prawns each with a slither of sauce. waited 30 mins for the children's pizzas which were inedible .thank god it was a carvery and we could fill our plates.. waited another 45 minutes after asking twice for our desserts, the children were still eating theirs when we were told they needed our table for another sitting ... the staff were very unprofessional..new ??as i havent seen them before..unorganised and the whole set up absolute chaos! having worked in hospitality i appreciate how busy things are at this time of year however total shambles and there were several people complaining not just us..when we left the situation was worsening and the queue for the carvery horrendous.

OMG what a complete discaser this Xmas day dinner was from start to finish. Unprofessional un trained staff working clearly just for the money. Not a clue what they were doing. The food was tasteless rubbish.

We arrived at 8.45pm to be told by the Scottish guy at the bar that they stop serving food at 8.30. You can book a table up to 9.30pm on the website so I can only assume he could not be bothered doing his job on this particular night.

I’ve been to this brewers fayre on many occasions and generally have a good meal, but today was very disappointing. I had the 2 course festive Turkey dinner and got one very thin, small slice of Turkey, over done parsnips that had been over microwaved and roast potatoes that you couldn’t even tell were potatoes. I was only given half a pot of gravy too. My husband did take the meal back and I was given more Turkey. The waitress was very good and did apologise and say if she’d noticed the lack of Turkey, she would’ve dealt with it before we got it. My after eight sundae wasn’t as good as they used to be either. There seemed to be more squirty cream on top too meaning less ice cream etc in the sundae. I’m less likely to return with todays experience. The quality was very poor and needs to drastically improve

Group of 7 for a festive Xmas lunch. Very disappointing, 6 festive meals were cold and no Xmas puddings left even after pre ordering our meals a few days beforehand as requested. Our table was booked for 1pm and we were told the meals had been plated up at 12!! The portions were diar! The piece of turkey wasn't even 3 inch square on all our plates and the so called roast potato had no potato in them, tasted like aunt Bessie's cooked and cooked again, disgusting. We asked for fresh meals making, and one waitress told us there was no turkey left, but another one told us they could get us some. This time it was all hot, which was edible, but the portions were absolutely shocking. So, not so festive at all.

Disappointing. Stayed in the attached Premier Inn for 2 nights and ate here on both nights. The first night I wasn't even shown to my table, just pointed in the vague general direction and told a table number by the disinterested bald Scottish guy on duty. He was totally disinterested in providing service and when a other table complained about the food he just said what do you want me to do about it. Also waited 30 minutes for a dessert despite the fact there were only 2 or 3 other tables eating. Breakfast the next morning was adequate but the bacon was so overcooked and hard it was inedible. The next evening I arrived only to be told that I would have to sit in the bar as all the tables were being relaid for breakfast. This was despite booking in advance and was only reluctantly given a table after pointing out this fact. Breakfast on the final day was a shambles with no organisation. I had to wait over 30 minutes to get some cooked breakfast due to no food being available on the buffet and then when food was available there were no plates. The food was also inedible as it wasn't cooked correctly and the 2 serving staff were uninterested in providing service. People were also filling pint glasses with fruit juice rather than the provided glasses so there was never any juice available. All in all it was very disappointing and these issues need addressing by management either by retraining or employing staff actually wanting to do their job to the given standard

Asked for a completely plain chicken burger with added bacon, took them 5 attempts for us to get a burger with no cheese on.Then for pudding we ordered the kids Xmas strawberry sundae for my lil sister, which came with no strawberries..waitress said they had ran out but she'd go get her some raspberries instead which was fine...Instead they then brought out a dish of the adults alcoholic fruit cocktail mix with sherry trifle sponges..which was definitely not raspberries and not something you would serve a child!!!Dietary restrictions: Even though they ask if you have any allergies before ordering, i wouldn't trust the kitchen to not somehow cross contaminate as our 'plain' burger came out 4 times with cheese on after specifically asking for no cheese.

If I could have given the service a zero I would have. There were 3 of us at the table, once our food had come to the table, the server called Ste asked about condiments and before I could answer he had walked off. One of us got steak that came without the peas and tomato's (we didn't ask to have without) and by the time we got a servers attention and we asked for them it took 10mins to arrive and the steak and chips were cold. I could also over hear another table complaining about an order they had pre-ordered something on the saturday and by Thursday it had been taken off the menu and she hadn't been told. When the peas came, I said I thought the service was poor the server Ste walked off without acknowledging me which was extremely rude and I said a little louder. He came over very obnoxious and never apologised. When I said please can we speak to a manager. He then said he was the manager.... Someone needs to do a course in customer service. The food what arrived was nice and the atomsphere got a 3 because it's decorated nicely for the Christmas season. The other staff members were lovely and polite but Ste I think you're in the wrong line of work and maybe you need to be behind the scenes.
