Unit 8A, Hindpool Retail Park, Hindpool Rd, Barrow-in-FurnessThere has been only one toilet in this Costa for Months now. With people waiting to use them. The shop is always busy and the team all work hard but when one of the team in particular is not on shift that day the state of the seating areas is very different. Diggle's
181 Dalton Rd, Barrow-in-FurnessReally nice breakfast, decent price. Friendly staff, especially when my son knocked his drink everywhere. Glad we found this place rather than go to another well known chain down the road. Would return. Cakes looked amazing. Decor was really dark though, that’s the only thing I would change. Didn’t eat my egg, as I prefer scrambled which didn’t appear to be an option.

Sizzle In
50 Cavendish St, Barrow-in-FurnessI ordered the Monster burger and loaded fries via Barrow Eats for delivery. Sadly my order was delivered to the wrong person and they took it. After a quick call, they sorted it for me and my order was promptly delivered again. All the staff on the phone were very apologetic and when I received my food I got an extra cheesy garlic bread pizza. All the food was really good and I highly recommend the monster burger.

Diamond
Dalton Rd, Barrow-in-FurnessWe found this place by chance and it was a short walk from the hotel - there is a car park close that is free after a set time in the day We hadn’t booked but we were able to get a table as it was early evening- the takeaway side was very busy throughout our time here A nice menu offering a set meal or you can choose individual dishes which had a great range - my friend had the chicken curry which was very hot seasoning wise but tasty The food arrived very promptly and was very tasty I had the sizzling chicken dish Cantonese style and it lives up to the name and was delicious! The staff were friendly and polite A nice place to visit if you are in the area or want a take away meal

McDonald's
148/150 Dalton Rd, Barrow-in-FurnessStandard McDonald's, typically the food is fresh here and not held very long, if you have any issues the staff will deal with it promptly. As with McDonald's policy the staff should be wearing hairnets in the kitchen, it's very clear they aren't and have several long haired members of staff in this section also, one of my previous complaints here has been that I found a hair in my food (was resolved) but worth mentioning form a quality standpoint

Anchor Fish Bar
11 Anchor Rd, Barrow-in-FurnessTraditional fish and chips shop that also has a small assortment of Chinese noodle dishes for takeaway. deli.sh
12 Crellin St, Barrow-in-Furness...but this has changed my mind every time I have been! Until eating here, I suppose I have been put off over the years by mass produced pies, soggy pastry and bland gravy with nothing else in them. That ends here, be prepared for a taste sensation. We've been multiple times over the years and it never fails to impress! It's a must visit. Perfect, crumbly pastry with generous, tasty fillings. The breakfast pie is probably a favourite but then so are the amazing freshly cooked scotch eggs and then the absolutely perfect pork pies. I realise after all I do like pies and pastry products from here. Simply from here, nowhere else need bother, they cannot match here, and you needn't bother going anywhere other than here. Oh, and a decent coffee to help it all go down too!

Best Restaurants
The Hive Cafe Bistro
73 Scott St, Barrow-in-FurnessWhere to start!? Didn't make a reservation as it was our first time going, but managed to snag a seat on a busy Sunday when the roast menu was on. Service was superb from start to finish & our order came out extremely quickly for such quality food. The roast beef dinner was superb, with the red cabbage being especially delicious and tangy. The halibut was also delightful and some of the best fish we have tasted. No shortage in portion sizes, we planned on 2 courses and we're happy enough after just a main, but were informed that the price was the same for with dessert, so both snuck in a sticky toffee pudding which was equally as delicious, paired with a small scoop of some of the most delightful ice cream I've had the pleasure of trying. Our servers were extremely polite and helpful, and the hard work from the chefs clearly shows in their food.Left a 30% tip and will definitely be back!

Village Inn
7 Newton Cross Rd, Newton in Furness, Barrow-in-FurnessWe came for a weekend away for our anniversary and just googled somewhere to eat. It was far from where we were staying.Although small and old, the food was amazing ! The portions were big and everything was just so tasty. The seats in the place are not the best or comfiest as I had a bad back. But it’s dog friendly if you do have a dog.Our server was fantastic a young man (I didn’t manage to get his name) he was speedy, polite and very well mannered. To start we both had soup of the day which was carrot and coriander with a bread roll 8/10, my partner had the rump steak and went for the salt and pepper chips - I tried them and wow I’m not sure what the chef used but they were great ! The meat was clearly a local sourced cut and it was a nice cut and was cooked perfectly medium rare 9/10. I had the lasagne and garlic bread, it came loaded with cheese and was cooked brilliantly very tasty original recipe lasagne just like my Italian grandma used to make with the carrots etc. 9/10. For pudding my partner had the sticky toffee pudding and ice cream which was massive 9/10, and I had the chocolate cake with pouring cream 9/10 the chocolate cake could’ve been bigger. Then we had a latte to finish very strong coffee 10/10. All of the food came piping hot and exceeded our expectation. The food was fantastic, service was great as mentioned the place is somewhat plain and chairs not the best but we didn’t mind as the food really spoke for itself.Parking is a little difficult and you have to park on the road. There are 2-3 steps walking into the pub incase you have mobility issues. There is also a male and female toilet but I did not see a disabled toilet.Definitely would recommend for all of this and two lemonades it was £75Wheelchair accessibility: There are a few steps getting into the pub and I did not see disabled toilets. However outside is flat, as well as in side so no stairs other than getting in.
