Arrived at 19:15 (as told to for collection) and were told they were just waiting on our portion of plain chips. After waiting half an hour (the rest of our order sat waiting) we asked if the chips would be done soon and were told they were still waiting on them. We asked to swap the portion for rice and we’re given this immediately and left with our meals no longer hot. The meals were nice, however a half hour wait with no warning or apology was poor.

Saw this restaurant on our first visit to Barrow but didn't venture in. When we came to stay in Barrow recently we gave it a try. Busy even on a Tuesday night, attentive service, nice food and reasonable prices. Would recommend it.

What an amazing experience. Such a busy restaurant and we had not booked but was greeted and had short wait. Service was attentive as all members of staff regularly checked on us including the owner. The wobbly table was sorted with minimal fuss too ! The choices were extensive and we went for garlic cheese pizza which was lovely and then the lollo strogonoff which was literally divine and a huge portion. Hubby had the lasagne which was excellent and finished with a calypso coffee. Really reasonable price and thoroughly satisfied and will return in Barrow again .Thankyou to all staff a real jewel in Barrow .

….. step in side! From the first second you feel welcome. On a Sunday, you apparently need to make reservations. However, the staff went out of their way to make room to the four of us. Obviously top notch service. The quality of the dishes.. wow! Great atmosphere. However a little cramped. Too much furniture in fem square meters. Squeeze your self in!

Walked by this restaurant a couple of times and noticed it was always busy. Decided to try tonight and I now know why it’s always busy, food and service was excellent! See you again next time I’m in town! Thanks

Lovely meal. Reasonably priced. Quick service. Would go ahead when in town. The menu was full of tasty meals. The only issue was deciding what to choose,

Just been for 1st time and will go back. Good food. I had scallops with pasta. Delicious. Huge scallops . So tasty. The garlic bread with tomato chilli and garlic was so moorish. Lovely calypso coffee to finish. A perfect meal which we enjoyed before a trip to Barrow Forum. Can’t wait to go back

Came on Saturday evening after reserving a table a few days before only to be told there was a limited menu and staff shortages. Why were we not informed of this when we booked? Not only was the menu very short of quality but so was the food, pasta dishes were overcooked and tomato sauces were gloopy.Salvos used to be so much better than this, there seems to have been a bit of a downturn in quality of food being served, such a shame ,it needs to be turned around Salvo.

Mochas were great. Everything else was over priced and poor quality. I’ve visited Salvos since it opened in the 1990’s until we moved out of the area. I won’t go back after today. The person who served us was nice but the manageress was miserable. The cheese on the pizza and pasta was unpleasant, almost like it was a béchamel mixed with mozzarella. The calzone was stuffed with cheap ham. Apparently the Parmesan cheese wasn’t gluten free, and the deserts were pathetic for the £6 something they cost. Salvannas used to be reasonably price and great quality. It is now overpriced and poor quality. Very disappointing.

Ate here on a wet Tuesday evening. Well-cooked food that arrived promptly. Friendly and efficient service - went above and beyond.

Came here on spec on a Sunday night - seated immediately and served drinks very quickly. Fantastic convivial atmosphere in the dining area with a large group and several couples - always nice to see a restaurant busy on a Sunday, it gives a great indication that it's always popular! I had the chicken livers to start with and they were perfect, tender and tasty. My husband had the pork belly which was served in a broth flavoured with ginger and he said it was smashing. For the main we both chose a breaded chicken dish served on spaghetti from the specials board. Again, tender and well-seasoned. I felt rather guilty that we couldn't finish it - the portions are HUGE! The waitress did offer us a takeaway box but we were staying in a hotel so had no way of storing it, which was a crying shame as it would have been lovely to finish it off the following day. Salvana's seems to be a great little place that's popular with locals as well as visitors - a real "neighbourhood restaurant". Prices were reasonable with two starters, two mains, two rum & cokes and a mineral water coming out at £67. We would definitely return!
