Beautiful inside with lovely staff. Sadly the food was such a let down. Battered king prawns looked as if they’d been bought at the supermarket. Food was tasteless and mediocre at best. Really disappointed and wouldn’t recommend at all

Ordered a Mulled Wine. They turned round and poured red wine in a glass, turned round and warmed it up on the Coffee machine, and then threw a slice of orange into the glass. They wanted £5.95 for a glass of warmed up red wine. See below for ingredients of mulled wine...Ingredients1 (750 ml) bottle of dry red wine.1/4 cup brandy (or orange liqueur)1 orange, sliced into rounds (also peeled, if you would like a less-bitter drink)8 whole cloves.2 cinnamon sticks.2 star anise.2 to 4 tablespoons sugar, honey, or maple syrup to taste (or your desired sweetener

Absolutely terrible service! They served us the wrong dishes and had the audacity to demand payment for their mistake. The staff even tried to pressure us. Steer clear of this restaurant and bar if you want to enjoy a decent holiday.

A bit of a mixed bag. The service was excellent but the food was not great. Paella was mushy and bland and the meatballs were dry. The chorizo & chickpea and pork fillet were nice. Decent size portions and not overly expensive. Several options for gluten free. Would not be my first choice to revisit.Dietary restrictions: Good variety of gluten free options

Another great afternoon in the Bodega bar, 47 of us in fancy dress were looked after with excellent service, we’ve been coming here for a few years now and never let down

One of the best tapas resterauants that I have eaten at. The food is great and cooked really fresh, the service is good and the price is right. The atmosphere is great as well. Well done everyone!

Food was mediocre at best, definitely not fresh. Got most of the menu to try but around 65% went back unfinished because it was tasteless or inedible.Service… well server couldn’t understand a geordie accent so had to repeat over and over, then brought the wrong wine, red rather than white, but also because he poured about 5ml into the glass he reckoned it was now on our bill and our problem.Very hostile and even stopped us drinking after the wine debacle, claiming we were too drunk (we’d only just left hotel about half hour before after driving down) charged us for multiple extra drinks we hadn’t had them threatened us with the police if we didn’t pay the full bill plus the 25% service charge.Avoid this place at all costs, deep routed hate for tourists from the service staff to managerial staff, when we are basically 90% of the trade going here. In the last 15 years of traveling and eating in different places all the time I’ve never experienced such a hostile and holiday spoiling environment that I had that night.0/10

My second visit to this restaurant so I knew the food would be good. It was very quiet as it was a rainy November evening but the food and service were still spot on. We ordered 6 tapas dishes between two of us and this was more than enough. A reasonably priced bottle of red proved a delicious accompaniment to our meal. All our dishes were so good. Special mention to the patatas aioli as they were so crispy on the outside and fluffy inside - divine. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and will no doubt return when next in Bowness.

We sat downstairs and had a few drinks while waiting for a table to come available. We hadn’t booked and being Saturday night it was very busy. There’s a great selection of quality world beers and the usual spirits, we had a nice cocktail too. Very good vibe to the place with some quirky seating. Staff were all very friendly and grateful for any tips we gave. The food was nice and the upstairs restaurant area had a good Spanish feel to it.

We visited Bowness on Windermere and was looking for a tapas bar. When we read the menu the first thing my partner said (he is Spanish) was that it’s definitely Spanish that had written the menu. Plenty of options on the menu so we went in. Partner is from Valencia and we go back regularly for tapas. We have found a few ok tapas restaurants in England but some dishes have been good and some not so good. We both said this is the best tapas we have eaten in England and will definitely return when in Lake District. The food was not greasy, or over cooked. Was plenty of it and such good flavours to each dishes, not one dish was average. We ordered 8 dishes which come to £58 and we was stuffed afterwards.
