Graze cafe
Crag Brow House, Helm Rd, Bowness-on-Windermere, WindermereMy wife and I were wandering around Windermere looking for somewhere to grab lunch when we spotted Graze Café. From the outside it looked like a cosy coffee shop, so I was expecting the usual sandwiches and light bites — but wow, I could not have been more pleasantly surprised.
With Korean and Japanese food being some of my favourites, this place turned out to be exactly my kind of spot. I ordered the BBQ pork belly rice bowl (one of my all‑time favourite dishes), and it was unbelievably good. Rich, flavourful, perfectly cooked — one of the best versions I’ve had.
I also tried the lychee Japanese drink with the glass marble in it, which was fun. We finished with a slice of lemon and raspberry cake, which was lovely too.
An outstanding café with fantastic food and a great vibe. If I didn’t live so far away, I’d be in all the time!
Highly recommended if you love Asian-inspired dishes or just want something delicious and different for lunch.

Linthwaite House
Crook Ln, Bowness-on-Windermere, Windermerewe stayed under their new years eve two night tasting menu experiance, service was very very good, they go above and beyond, only person i didnt gel with was the tall gent on reception, three encounters where i found him just rude - everyone else was top notch.
cute hotel, good vibe in the evening, beers were a bit naff, but wine, cocktails etc were clearly their area of strength.
tasting menu was great, first night was mis-advertised as a three course dinner, not small tasting menu so i went extremely hungry the first night, but the main event (NYE) was fantastic - boy did they pull all the stops out.
Shout out to Tim (i think) who emailed me our lake pass after i dropped it on a walk enabling us to go on over 1 hour cruse around the lake, would reccomend.

Elim Bank Guest House #BookDirect
Lake Rd, Bowness-on-Windermere, WindermereOne of the most genuinely hospitable stays I’ve had. We stayed for 3 nights and were so well looked after by Symmoane and Adam who were such kind, thoughtful hosts. The room was spotless, comfortable, and had everything we needed, and the location was perfect- easy walking distance to both Bowness and Windermere, a ton of restaurants and shops and the bus stop was just 2 minutes away making exploring the lake district without a car so easy! Symmoane and Adam were very transparent before booking (including letting us know there wouldn’t be a cooked breakfast), but the breakfast was still hearty and delicious, the homemade compote was honestly one of the best I’ve had. They even added some lovely touches when they found out it was my birthday, which made the stay feel extra special. A beautiful place run by wonderful people. We’ll 100% be recommending and would love to come back.

Burn How Garden Hotel
Back Belsfield Rd, Bowness-on-Windermere, WindermereA group of four ladies stayed for two nights. We had two garden rooms. Both lovely self contained chalets. Plenty of room inside and car parking outside the chalet. Beautiful decor throughout the hotel. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Owner was always present too. Breakfast was buffet followed by the best poached eggs ever. The property is set back from main road so traffic noise is minimal. Could walk into town in 5 minutes. Overall a very pleasant stay and will certainly rebook.

Lake Raj
3 Longlands Rd, Bowness-on-Windermere, WindermereHad such a lovely post hike meal here! Super lovely staff, incredibly warm and friendly. We had paneer, yellow daal, superb naan (really fresh) and onion baajis. The food was great quality, with quality meat and great flavours. No oily curries here! Ignore the bad reviews , they are old and do not reflect the great meal that could be had here.

The Flying Pig Pub
Rayrigg Rd, Bowness-on-Windermere, WindermereWe came here for a Sunday roast after seeing it when driving through, it looks old and had country vibes that drew us in. The staff did their best to get us a table even though it was really busy and fully booked. The food was absolutely amazing! Definitely deserves 10/10 and we ate every bit! I am a vegetarian and the veggie option was just gorgeous, my boyfriend had the trio of meats and he said it melted in his mouth. Perfect way to end our day. 110% recommend

House Of Siam
3 and 5 Grosvenor Terrace, Bowness-on-Windermere, WindermereMy first experience of Thai food (my boyfriend loves it) and from the moment we stepped foot in the restaurant, we were looked after. The staff were attentive & friendly, the service was spot on (food served quickly) and the food was delicious! We opted for the Weeping beef and the Tamarind duck dish with egg fried rice and noodles. We shared and there was more than enough for the two of us. Fabulous experience from start to finish and would highly recommend.
