Had a perfect lunch here after visiting the lake district. The fish there is fresh, and battered sausages are tasty. We will come back in the future. Note that they charge VAT if you sit in the upper stairs area.

Absolutely amazing in all areas. I would say slightly pricey in comparison to normal chippies but that's understandable due to the location. The service, the food, the atmosphere is perfect. Would definitely

Alright fish and chips, just could be tastier! A bit bland! However, Staff were the opposite of warm and friendly! It felt as though I was troubling the main lady taking the orders when i asked for what i wanted! Not the best vibe to be giving

Best fish and chips! Food was fresh and service was super quick. Seating upstairs but if there is a large group/tour booking then it is unavailable for everyone else. A couple of small 2 seater tables outside and a few window bar seats inside. Location in the heart of town so does get

Nice staff however the food is nothing but average. Chips were bland and was given gravy instead of curry but was to far to travel back to swap it. On the whole I can't recommend them.

Best Chippy in bowness by far. Fresh Hot Tasty Chips. Very clean eating area upstairs, friendly staff and quick service. Great value for money considering it’s in bowness. Will continue to visit whenever in the area.

Extremely average fish and chips, insanely expensive (£10). When I started to head upstairs to sit, I was yelled at and told I had to pay an extra 15% if I wanted to sit there. Crazy. They don’t even supply knife and fork so you have to eat with your hands. Worst fish and chips service I’ve ever had!

Family of four ordered Fish & Chips...never been here before, used the reviews to see what places were highly rated. I'm very pleased to say, the fish and chips here were amazing...fish was fresh and chips were equally freshly fried and served. For Muslims looking for a chippy, these guys have separate oil to just fry their Fish in. A big "Thumbs up" from me!

Found this place by chance and so glad we did. Friendly service, good choice, average price for the food, and one of the best fish and chips I've ever had, not greasy at all, the batter was light and crispy. Good size piece of fish. I had fish, chips, peas and gravy and the portion was a good size. The shop is located two minutes away from a beautiful lake front. There is also seating right outside the shop.Dietary restrictions: Vegetarian options availableGluten Free options available for fish and chipsAll clearly marked on their board

This is a great place, particularly given the seating upstairs. The meals we bought were all really good, particularly the fish and chips. All reasonably priced as well. Would highly recommend.

Excellent fish and chips, good portion size and importantly for me gluten free. There is a wide range of gluten free food all cooked in a separate frier.

It was our final day in the Lake District and before heading home, we took a walk down to Lake Windermere. We took a chance on Vinegar Jones, as it seemed like a nice chippy with their gluten free fish and chips as well as regular, which was a bonus. Well, we were certainly not disappointed! There was a slight wait for the fish, but it was worth it being cooked fresh. The batter was nice and crispy, the fish succulent and juicy, with fluffy chips and a carton of peas to go. And the ladies serving were really pleasant and very friendly too! Lovely to sit by the lake with these, would definitely recommend and will certainly be returning again in the future!Dietary restrictions: Gluten free fish and chips available each day.

We went for lunch on a Saturday and was impressed. Prices are fair. Service is friendly. Food is very good. It’s 15% extra to eat in upstairs. The upstairs dining area is modern, clean and basic. So overall very good.*We had a portion of (non battered) sausage & chips each.

We were in a bit of a hurry and one of our party is disabled. The staff were great and pulled tables and chairs from the street so we could sit in the shop to eat our supper. Thanks for this and the fish and chips were good as well.
