We had dinner here last night and the food was as good as you would expect for the price and the service was as good as you would need out for a family meal however the atmosphere wasn't very good as the place was very empty.

Meeting up with family and friends, booked table although was not busy. Service was spot on, food came quick and was hot and tasty, good choice of drinks. All enjoyed. Toilets

Food was dreadfull, overpriced for the portion sizes which were ridiculously small.A poor experience and we won't be back which is a shame as we are local to this

Lovely well cooked food.Friendly staff. The place was really quite unclean though. Not just a day or two worth’s either. It was ingrained.

Although the restaurant was fairly quiet at time of visit (about 6 tables occupied) the service was terrible. We waited 40 minutes for our main food to arrive we then had to go and find someone to take our order for desert. Once ordered we waited over 30 minutes and again we had to chase them up to bring them out. It was only at this point they finally decided to clear our dinner plates away. There were a lot of staff floating around but didn't seem to be doing anything.

Had the gammon eggs and chips.Gammon really salty, chips cold but peas were lovely, asked staff for bill, waited 20minutes until I caught hold of another staff member. Place looks like it's still in the 70s, won't be going back.

It was not my first visit to this Beefeater. Called here on a Tuesday evening in November and had their lunch menu meal deal (before 5pm).The restaurant was rather cool feeling when seated..... soon discovered why - the radiator was turned off we were sat next to! Issue resolved when I turned it on... freezing night, radiator off..... Why?!?The food was well cooked and tasty enough, although on the lunch menu, if you want more than a bare burger and bun, it puts the cost up. The off-peak menus appear to offer great value, but the portion control and meal size is much tighter, and everything is an add-on.We had to get the bill corrected as 'the till' tried to overcharge for the meal deal desserts - something to be aware of.On the whole, the place is looking a little tired and could do with a bit of TLC. The service was good, friendly staff enough.I would call here again.

We stopped for lunch about 2.30pm, had 2 two course meals and two drinks for less than £30.00 which considering my main was a rump steak, I thought was excellent value for money. That and the fact the steak was cooked exactly how I like it, medium rare, means next time we're back in the area we'll definitely be paying a visit.

Good food albeit a little inconsistent for a franchise. I had the same meal for 3 nights in a row which came out either with or without one or two things each time. That aside the food is still tasty and a somewhat fair price within the meal deal though a majority of my favourites carry an additional charge on top of the £26 deal.Breakfast is unlimited and arguably the best part of the deal.Often busy at peak times with somewhat long wait times. The staff are friendly and helpful. The furnishings however, seem either dated or out of place in some parts.

I had the pleasure of utilising Border Gate in Carlisle for training purposes, and I must say their service was exceptional. The staff were incredibly friendly, accommodating, and attentive to every detail, making the overall experience smooth and enjoyable. The function room was spacious and well-equipped, providing an excellent environment for training sessions. I highly recommend Border Gate for their welcoming atmosphere and top-notch service.Vegetarian options: Good selection of vegetarian options.

We visited here on a very long journey back, we was glad of the stop. Food was nice and cooked well, compliments to the chef. To the gent who asked how was our meal, we appreciated that and to aimee our waitress thank you for a great service. Overall we had a great visit. If we are ever back in Carlisle we will be sure to visit again

The food was good, steak was cooked just as I asked. The cappuccino was more like a latte but tasted good. Staff were friendly and accommodated us well.

This Beefeater is conveniently located just off the M6. The welcome was warm, the place was clean and there was an extensive menu for all of the family. I was particularly impressed at the healthy eating options for children. Many restaurants may offer a 'kids menu' but it's usually theme and variations on the colour beige or offering chips with something fried. Hats off to beefeater for prioritising healthy eating and not pricing-up this choice. My only quibble was the speed of service, it was rather slow in what was a quiet restaurant. Aside from that, would strongly recommend.

Drinks order taken wrong, calamari and halloumi fries came out cold and without dips, the calamari tasted like burnt oil, then 5 minutes later the other starters turned up at the table... mains came, ribs had no sauce. Burger bun was rock hard, additional orders missed. I don't blame the staff. I blame beefeater. There overpriced and there food quality has gone down drastically in recent years

Our waitress was a lovely and polite girl which made our visit pleasant but this was our first ever visit and we will not go back. We waited 1hr 30 mins for our food even though the place wasn't even half full, my steak was badly burnt. We then had to wait another hour and half for dessert even though we ordered it at beginning and had to constantly ask for it, when it finally came my husbands food was stone cold
