Reasonable waiting time for counter service. Pleasant staff, plenty of seating available both inside and out. Good choice of pastries, cakes, snacks. Lovely coffee. The cafe is on ground floor within House of Fraser department store, city centre. Wheelchair access. Lifts to toilets on 2nd floor.

Coffee and hot chocolate tasted great presentation let it down was handed both on the tray that had spilt over as photo rail was very dusty and rubbish on floor

The girl behind the counter wad really nice and helpful, and the one star is for her. The other two guys that I came I to contact with were totally miserable. The one who cleared my table and the other one who wiped it. Not a nice word in fact not a word. Got the feeling I was a nuisance to them. So rude!

Really good coffee and hot chocolates. Staff are pretty friendly but I find some of them a little bit cold when I only pop in for the O2 priority free drink...service seems better when you order more which can be a little annoying but all in all a really nice big place to chill with a coffee.

Not a big fan of chains but I think cafe nero has the best coffee out of them all for sure
Pleasant surroundings but no offer of help to take tray to table despite me having a bag & my stick.

Nero's is always my first stop when I go to Carlisle. The staff are great n I love the choice of having my coffee inside the cafe or my preference sitting outside. Its great place to meet up with family for an hour or so. I like the loyalty card. I never buy food there as its so expensive. However they do supply a free baby bottle heating flask. I've never been stopped from eating my own food outside with my family, maybe its because we have kids with us or maybe its cos I'm a regular or maybe its cos Nero's are so easy going ! Twice I've complained about the unsteady chairs which have sharp bits sticking out ! I've been told by staff that the company are due to renew the chairs. Well that's been the story since last summer ! last Tuesday I found a screw which had fallen from one of the chairs! I'm sure Nero's could keep a bit of their profits aside to repair or replace the worn out n dangerous seating! Another problem is the lack of toilets n baby changing facilities, there aren't any in the cafe but if your prepared to go through the store, up the flights of stairs or up in the lift you can access these at the to of the store. Or like me just go into Costa loo's across the Lanes no baby changing facilities there. Nero's coffee is the best though.
