Staff were friendly and efficient. Ordered a beef wrap was told would be 20 mins came within 10 no complaints. Food was hot and tasty. Mike and the manager greeted us with a smile and seated us promptly. Will be

My food was lovely as I got a carvery, my husband and son were disappointed they ordered of the menu.My request for a quiet table was ignored even though it was half empty. I had two disabled children with me. My daughter screamed as too many people too close to us nearly all way through our time there. They sat us in a section where there were tables for large party’s and even though it was half empty they sat people in the tables right next to us even with my daughter screaming. People looking and starring because of this so made it really uncomfortable for us.. The service was no existent as they were short staffed. Went to change my disabled daughter and the changing facility’s for disabled is very poor so I ended up having to put my daughter in the car on a puppy pad unable to change her at your establishment and drive till I found somewhere that could accommodate me being able to change her nappy. Was very disappointed over all. I wouldn’t recommend for anyone with disabilities. I think places like this need to realise that disabled people come in more shapes then just a wheelchair and you only cater for wheelchair disabled not any other disability which is a shame.

Went for Christmas dinner.Thank you to all the staff who sacrificed time at home with their own families on Christmas to work and make sure all their customers could enjoy their Christmas. You did a great job. I’m sorry I didn’t get our servers name, a young lad working near the exit door to the left of the bar, you were fantastic and did a superb job, thank you!

Sorry to say this place seems to be understaffed. The food was OK but only warm, the serving area was quiet messy the table was dirty. My friend used the toilets while there, one was out of order the other the loo seat was off and the other was quiet dirty. Will not be going back. On the plus side the few staff who where there where pleasant

Very pleasant OVERWORKED staff. Rushing around doing several jobs simultaneously. Obviously a staff shortage.I chose beef with my carvery. Perhaps the smallest servings I've ever received at a Toby. The vegetables were okay except a leek and potato dish that was swimming in grease like the Yorkshire. What made the visit was the polite friendly staff and not the food

I don't think it would have been possible to carve the meat any thinner. In fact the piece of gammon was the size of a playing card. The vegetables were nice but could have used the Yorkshire pudding as a hammer. Staff were busy with each other so getting their attention was difficult. The toilets were in need of an environmental clean. It was clear woodwork and floors in toilet were very neglected. My friend and I wanted to split the bill. You'd have thought we had asked the server to pay and give us an internal organ for good measure. The place wasn't even over busy so would have expected better customer service. I'd only recommend if people were desperate for something to eat.

Long wait to be seated. Not enough staff one girl doing bar showed us to table and brought our drinks to table while 2 staff that we did see were clearing away and taking orders. I chose beef I got a few small pieces I wouldn't say there was even 2 slices and the potato and leek gratin and Yorkshire puddings were very greasy. We left most of the meal.

Didn't like the fact that staff didn't wear a uniform and we never had the same server to look after us. Also when we went to pay no one on the desk for at least 5 minutes as they were checking tables were ready for future guests. Service was quite shoddy they didn't listen to our drinks order which was ordered without ice yet both drinks came with ice.Parking: Remember to put your car registration in as you enter

The meal itself was lovely, waiter service was excellent drinks bought very quickly . However from being seated to queuing for food took an hour . It was extremely busy (it was a Sunday ) not sure how you resolve that issue . This didn’t really bother us and did not detract from the meal .

We had visited the Toby for a carvery on Sunday 22nd October 2023 and things went well, it was a little crowded but the meal and service was ok.Decided to go back for a meal on 25th October 2023 and NOT a good experience for the following reasons:1. It appears that orders for food to take away are given priority over those customers who are waiting in a queue to be served. We had to wait whilst at least 5 takeaway meals were made up. Surely it would make more sense for the takeaways to be put up in the kitchen and not at the buffet.2. My wife ordered a pudding (crumble) and waited at least 15 minutes before we caught the attention of a waiter who said he would check to see where the order was. When the pudding cam e it was cold and had obviously been standing in the kitchen waiting for the waiting staff to serve.3. Asking a passing waiter for our bill we had to wait 10 minutes until I had decided enough was enough and spoke with a supervisor.4. The supervisor did apologise and took the pudding off the bill.5. As a customer I would comment that there are either insufficient staff members or they need re-training in providing a decent service.Parking: Remember to input your vehicle registration number when you get inside the Toby or the camera's will catch you out and you will be 'fined'

Great food and staff, though if drinks are not refillable it should be told to you when getting them in the beginning. Breakfast has a wide range of foods to choose from, bacon, sausages, hashbrown, toast aswell to name a few. Staff are very polite and a man with pink hair was very polite in telling us that the drinks were not refillable, which is the standard but it is nice to not be talked down upon when you’ve made a mistake.Parking: Free parking, quite a few spots. Have to put in reg plate at the entrance so you don’t get fined.

Definitely best to book in advance to make sure you get a seat. Food was great and service was really quick. Went just before peak time so was able to avoid the rush and bustle which was great. Does get busy in the evening.Parking: Free parking for customers. Just enter reg on arrival to validate.

It was awful. It was far too busy, no one advised us at the front desk when we checked in and our server didn't tell us it would be a long wait for the carvery. My husband and daughter went first and waited 25 mins in line. My other daughter (who's 7th birthday it was) and i also waited 25 mins. We did not get to eat as a family it was very disappointing. Their was one carver on and the other staff seemed more concerned about filling takeaway orders than the customers in front of them. We saw our server once to take our drinks and was never seen again. No one was interested if the meal was OK or if you were OK. I cannot stand for long periods of time and the heat in the queue was making me feel faint. A horrible experience and a waste of a birthday celebration

We all enjoyed what we had very much. Meat portions could do to be a bit bigger. 2 of the Yorshires had big burnt bits in the inside but they just lifted out so didnt effect the taste. Overall our meal was lovelly but, we were very rushed. The place wasnt overlly busy but there seemed to be a mad rush to get us out so much so that there was a look of dissapointment on your employee's face when I went for more of the awesome roasters.

Stopped here in Carlisle on route to Beattock Moffat. Needed a break before we got to the holiday cottage and it did the trick.Walk the legs of all the family, fill up on food & then quickly depart to start the holiday.Food was good & value for money for the food & drinks.Would go again happilyVegetarian options: Lots of choices on the menuDietary restrictions: Lots of choice of items without allergensParking: Remember to put in your reg plate on the computer on entry to avoid parking finesKid-friendliness: Kids enjoyed it. We didn't expire anything more than the food and drinksWheelchair accessibility: Wide doorway and facilities
