Zero stars.. paid £216 for Christmas Dinner for 4 peoplePre Ordered..beef and gammon &salmon dinnersDinner booked for 4pm - eventually got seated at 4.35 - no cutlery on table, they dressed it whilst we sat there.Ist course yorkie pud /pulled beef came out cold at 5.15We eventually got our prosseco when we asked for it.Then by the time we got to go out for our mains 6.05Only turkey left - we don't eat turkey !Veg was completely cold and over cookedWe got offered gammon steak as compensation .. smallest ive ever seen anywhere. Cold plate so it was cold by the time I went for my even colder veg.Deserts ..christmas pud with brandy sauce looked like a school dinnerIce cream sundae fruit frozen solidI accept when you've gone in late in the day that you might well end up with veg thats sat there for a whilst ..but not when you've paid £54 per head. Our Christmas day ruined and managers only answer was a drink on the house.Absolute disgrace!!!

Attended last night and can only describe the food as scrumptious ?I originally ordered the club sandwich but to my surprise the Director of Brewers Fayre Mr Daren Clive Lowry came to my table to inform me they had ran out but suggested I went for the smothered chicken burger “I will personally smother it with love and affection” he jokingly assured me, there was definitely some truth to that statement because it felt like love to the taste glands. The ball and chain (the wife lol) went for the Chicken Tikka special which she said felt like she had gone to India and back with every mouthful.Would 100% recommend to all!!!Parking: N/a

Stayed at the Premier Inn adjacent to this pub and used it for meals. Firstly, have to say that the quality of the food was very good. However, so many things could be improved. To turn up at any restaurant and be told to take a table and order at the bar isn't really acceptable these days. Especially when there is only one person behind the bar who is taking food orders and drinks orders at the same till. Big queue on both nights we were there which lasted all night.Having waited in queue and ordered food and drinks we were happy enough to be served starters after about 20 minutes. However, we then had to wait around 45 minutes for main course to arrive. This was even more annoying when several tables who had arrived later than us were served their mains (including one table of around 10 customers. This was brought to the attention of the servers several times with no reaction. When food eventually arrived, the quality was very good to be fair, but having waited so long really spoiled the evening. To be fair, after complaining at the bar, one of the senior staff offered a refund of some of the cost which was gratefully received. However the overall experience was so disappointing that we would be very reluctant to eat here again.

Breakfast was slow and cold, and tasted like it had been heated in the microwave. There were only 2 girls working, they were lovely and worked really hard.Dinner was much better less crowded but more staff.

Brewers Fayre presents a mixed bag of experiences that warrants a three-star rating. One of the significant drawbacks is the consistently cold temperature of the food. Unfortunately, this issue persists across various dishes, significantly impacting the overall enjoyment of the dining experience. Cold meals are a letdown, overshadowing potential positives and leaving diners with a less than satisfactory impression.Adding to the challenges is the slow pace at which plates are cleared from the table. Efficient table clearing is a basic expectation in any dining establishment, and the delayed service in this aspect detracts from the overall ambiance. A prompt clearing of dishes contributes to a more pleasant dining environment, and the lag in this regard at Brewers Fayre is a noticeable shortcoming.Despite an initial promise of speedy service, a notable hiccup occurred when the staff seemed to forget about our desserts. This lapse in attention to a crucial part of the meal is a significant flaw in the overall service. The anticipation built during the main course was deflated by this oversight, leaving a somewhat sour note at the end of the dining experience. Consistency in service is crucial, and this lapse was a noticeable deviation from the expected standard. On a positive note, the pricing at Brewers Fayre is notably affordable. For those seeking budget-friendly dining options, the cost may be the redeeming factor. When considering the price, the overall value for money becomes more forgiving. However, it's essential to balance the cost with the quality of the dining experience. While a lower price point is appreciated, it should not come at the expense of fundamental aspects such as food temperature, timely service, and attention to detail. In summary, Brewers Fayre provides a mixed experience that earns it a three-star rating that I think is "fayre" and balanced. The consistently cold food, slow plate clearing, and the dessert oversight detract significantly from what could have been an enjoyable dining experience. However, the affordability of the meals provides a silver lining, making it more forgivable for those on a tight budget. The three-star rating reflects a balance between reasonable pricing and notable service shortcomings. If Brewers Fayre can address the issues with food temperature and service consistency, it has the potential to enhance its standing in the competitive dining landscape.

The food was very good but the service was non existent need lots more staff. Felt really sorry for the youngster who was serving the meals as she was run off her feet. She earns 5 stars along with the one lady serving behind the bar.

Had to send chips back as they weren't hot but after that, it was good. The puddings were nice but I thot jam roly poly was a sponge not a pastry. Overall a success and if in the area again I would go there and recommend. ?

Arrived with my wife around 18.20 and ordered food about 18.30. Sat and waited, after 50 minutes I asked the manager how long the food would be and we were told that our food was being prepared and it would be 10 to 15 minutes. After one and a half hours we asked again and were again told that our food was being cooked and would be another 10 to 20 minutes. The restaurant were still taking orders at this time even though several customers had waited over an hour. We were told that the kitchen was under staffed yet the restaurant was not restricting the amount of customers. The staff really didn't know how to deal with unhappy customers and all they would offer was free drinks or desserts. After waiting a total of one hour forty we demanded our money back.

The food took a while to arrive , which was only luke warm . I couldn't be bothered to send it back as it had been a long day at work . Sent my desert back as the custard was cold. Only eat here as I was stopping in the premier inn. Wouldn't come again . No Guinesss either .....

Stayed at premier cockermouth on a world wind tour of the Lake District, we decided to eat from the Brewers Fayre what is joined on. We took the meal deal from premier inn receptionist my Mrs asked if the menu was a full menu with the deal which we was told yes it is so we booked it. After arriving at the restaurant 30 minutes early we got a table no problem, we then ordered our food being told not ever meal is on the deal menu which instantly peed me off. This was not the restaurants fault ! We waited around 40 mins for the food to come which in fairness was not too bad for the amount of people inside. The food was average at best my ribs were cold and like rubber the chicken was cold also. We pre booked deserts whilst ordering main course had to ask twice for the table to be cleared and waited another 30 minutes for the deserts. In fairness the deserts saved the restaurant from a poor review they were very nice. Reading between the lines the restaurant is massively under staffed the people who work there never stopped. Not going to comment on breakfast because that was not a good at all cold again. Would we stay again I don’t think so unfortunately suppose it’s all down to cuts and saving money.

We was staying at the Premier Inn next door and after a long journey to our hotel we decided just to have a quick meal in this restaurant. When we checked in, at the Premier Inn, the lady on reception kindly offered to book a table for us. However, she did point out that they were currently short of staff and to expect a 30 minute wait. Sure enough, we got our hot food after 30 minutes. I wish other restaurants would also be this honest and then it is the customers choice to stay or go elsewhere.

Awful. Understaffed, In-experienced staff. No warning that there will be a delay. Over an hour wait and then wrong order brought out. Ended up ordering pizza delivery.

Poorly presented meals but it was a meal deal so not expecting anything special. I ordered off the separate menu and received a spoonful of badly cooked rice an underdone cold naan bread which cost a pound extra and a bowl of weak sauce with 3 pieces of chicken floating about. That's our last...used to like it here but it's very poor now and gone right down. £5.10 a pint....we won't be back...
