Dean, WorkingtonJust been to treat my mother for mothersday, honestly 10/10. Great old school pub atmosphere which was not scared to show off its heritage. The food was amazing, I opted for the burger which was tender and very cheesey, but not over the top. One family member had the cow pie and kindly let me have a taste, and WOW! DELICIOUS!
Also with it being mothers day it was very busy, however I must commend the service by the staff, the food came in no time! Need more drinks? Staff just kept coming but were not too invasive, and very very polite. We will be coming back and i can't wait!

Castle Bar
14 Market Pl, CockermouthAfter looking for somewhere to eat, came across this bar and decided to go and try it out. Went to the bar and ordered a drink but unfortunately told since it was off season that they were not serving food, which I can understand. Took our drink and went to sit down and enjoy your drink. When we sat down, a staff member came over to give some local suggestions on where to eat and wished us a good stay while in the lakes.

Fermento - Italian Family Kitchen
2 Market Pl, CockermouthThe mixed platter starter was amazing (could've used more on the platter!), pizza was nice and the gelato was amazing. The tiramasu was so delicious I've never seen my boyfriend so happy/content whilst eating it! The Italian fruit soft drinks are also to die for. Service is brilliant, lovely restaurant. Couldn't have asked for more.

The Belle Vue, Papcastle
Papcastle, CockermouthPopped in as passing for a drink.
Ended up ordering some food.
Wife had tomato and pepper soup and I had a beef burgers.
It was lovely inside . Clean and a nice welcome. There is a large carpark so easy to park opposite.
The food came and the soup I was told tasted great and my beefburger was very nice as well.
Will pop in again when that way.

Shills of Cockermouth
11 South St, CockermouthWe had a brilliant Saturday night at Shills. There was a bagpipe player for Burns Night who was great. The food was fantastic and the staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. Looking forward to going back again soon and trying more of the menu.

Domino's Pizza - Cockermouth
23 Station St, CockermouthI have been to lot of Domino's but Mr. Praveen and Mr. Shiva was exceptionally customer centric and took our order with great care. Next time, we're at Lake District, we will definitely come back to this Domino's. Extremely satisfied. Keep up the good work.

Lamplugh Rd, CockermouthWe regularly go for breakfast here and food is always excellent the staff get to know their regulars and are lovely especially Jayne I have read some of the reviews that we know are aimed at Jayne but let me tell you she puts up with a constant stream of visitors to the area who are rude and impatient and have very little manners and she deals with them in a manner befitting the manner in which they speak to her ! She has always been polite helpful and numerous with us but then we always say thank you please and have a nice day ! Jayne’s and her colleagues do a fantastic job in a highly pressured outlet well done guys ! Please pass on our thanks to them all and let them know they are appreciated .

Low Lorton, CockermouthVisiting the lake discrict for a couple days and got recommended by our host to this pub, Drink and a late dinner.
Very impressed with our roast dinners with friendly attentive service.
Probably one of the best roast dinners we have had out, beef and Yorkshires - spot on.
Only suggestion is a wider selection of lagers.
Very pleased overall, Would 100% return if in the area and reccomended.

The Moon & Sixpence
29 Main St, CockermouthTiny coffee shop but was told its the best in Cockermouth. It probably is, but we had better coffee elsewhere in the lakes. We are 'coffee snobs' and we usually sniff out small indie coffee shops, and the moon & sixpence defo has that vibe. We stopped in twice, so definitely not saying the coffee is bad, just being realistic about our expectations based on previous reviews. We took a slice of vegan cake which was very nice and I also bought a bag of locally roasted beans which I love to do. They were very very busy, so not the most relaxed smiley environment, as experienced elsewhere. Look forward to cracking open my beans :-)

Market Pl, CockermouthI had meatball special starter and a fillet and my boyfriend Danny had a sticky Cumberland sausage starter & blocks mixed grill special. Everything was cooked perfectly! The chips were best ever (I'd go back just for them) The wine selection was fantastic, even squeezed in dessert!

Norham House, 73 Main St, CockermouthVisited again today for lunch - Popped in and reserved a table first friendly and helpful. Then went back a couple of hours later. I opted for pie of the day with peas and gravy, it was on the specials board with chips, but foregoing the chips wasn't a problem.
The pie was home made jammed full of beefsteak and both tasty and filling

Lovely fresh ham and plenty of it, with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, red onion, coleslaw and mayonnaise with a sprinkle of salt and pepper. Husband had a savoury tuna baguette with all the salad. Best baguette I have ever had!

35 Station St, CockermouthWe had a large mixed meat kebab, which was outstanding, and my partner had a pizza which she really enjoyed. Easy to order and prompt delivery. They even allowed us to order and pay cash on collection, which is very handy! Will definitely order from Pedro's next time we are in Cockermouth ?

We had light lunch of filled baked potatoes with hot drinks. Food was well-prepared, tasty and good value. Cappuccino and hot chocolate good too.
Service good and friendly. Order and pay at till, food brought to table.

25-27 Main St, CockermouthFirst visit was 2 yrs ago and it was very disappointing.
Fast forward to a month ago and visited again with my wife as part of a group of 16. I must say we were impressed, the service and the quality of the food were spot on. Visited again last night (6pm on a Sunday ) and once again the food quality and quantity were fantastic.
Spotlessly clean but could do with some atmospheric lighting and maybe some authentic background music. However, we will definitely return.

4/5, Headford Court, 72 Main St, CockermouthPopped into ASPAVA cake shop. The kind of shop you just want to buy everything if you had the funds. The cakes look amazing, but how do they taste, well I can tell you just as amazing as they look. Bought quite a few cakes and biscuits, including a tray of orange and brandy creme bruille. I asked if this needed heated to the gentleman behind counter. He said yes, but that he could do this for me on the spot and it would be ready to eat when I got back to our hotel. Got talking with is gentleman and found he was the owner, he told us if we wanted to eat tonight, we should try his restaurant next door. So we did. Best decision we have made for a long time. The staff were fantastic, the food amazing, best salads had in ages, so fresh tasting. If you ever find yourself/ves lucky enough to be in cockermouth, do you taste buds a favour and try either the cake shop or the restaurant or both like us, you will not regret it

The Manor House Hotel Cockermouth
Crown St, CockermouthGolf break for 4 guys with 3 cars.
Comfortable twin rooms, very tasty breakfast and helpful staff helped us locate car parking spaces at 7pm ish on our arrival.
Hidden spaces rear of the building.
Less than 3 minutes walk to The Bush Inn for great beers and pub grub (steak pies) on our 2nd night.
Will certainly return and recommend to family and friends.
Staff all very helpful and friendly in all parts of the hotel.
Rooms: Comfortable twins.
