Called in and ordered a large bag of chips, very basic food... Probably the dryest chips I've ever had!... I suspect these have been sitting along time as when they was making them up they was scraping the bottom to get them out... Old, dry hard chips... Was the first time I've used this chippy and it will be the last.

The Chinese food is very nice, mostly good value and the staff are friendly. Unfortunately the basics like chips are extortion and although sometimes good are too often a waste of money.Salt & pepper chips are way too variable in quality each time I buy them, this time essentially spending £3.80 on a small portion of not very good chips with 2 tiny cuts of onion and one slice of spring onion. Barely any seasoning or difference from standard chips except in the price, but even their standard chips are overpriced. I notice a review from several years ago complaining of the same thing, and even sharing a recipe with them.In my case it must have saved them a fraction of a penny, but should really be embarrassing. Unfortunately due to the quality of several recent orders will be limiting what I risk spending here in future as I often regret it.Vegetarian options: Mixed vegetable chow mein is very nice.

We had the fish and chips. Fish was cooked very well, very light and soft white Fish with minimal batter and not oily or greasy. Chips were pretty good and the gravy had an oriental twist to it - maybe something they cook it with similarly - was a nice surprise.

Very polite service, good fish and chips, the best gravy in Cumbria it must be made with spare ribs /onions etc.. it is a meal on its own.

This food was excellent and prices are good. The food portions are really generous and we always have enough for lunch next day lol my favourite Chinese in the area by far. Would definitely recommend it. We order from both the Chinese side and the chip shop side and always come back with a family of five filled bellies and happy.

The reason im giving lee’s chippy is because I personally know they cut their own chips instead of using frozen cut ones that are sealed in plastic bags.! They start working from 6am right through the night. They must be shattered poor souls but people like Lee and his family deserve to have all the stars so let’s give them a nice tip ? it doesn’t need to be notes just a little one that will help bring them smiling ☺️ once again ???Vegetarian options: So many vegetarian recipesKid-friendliness: Family and kids love a cod and chips for a Friday evening meal ?️?Wheelchair accessibility: No steps so makes it easier to glide through the door ?

Ordered a takeaway earlier. The girl that answered the phone was so polite and took our order, reading it back to us. Food was beautiful

Lovely young lady took my order tonight. Very polite and professional.

Cash only, talking to the young lady that is on the till very rudely as she was trying her hardest to learn the till. Food on the whole (sausage and chips x3 and 1 fish and chips) was ok but the gravy that we poured on the meals certainly didn’t taste like gravy, it actually tasted sweet and burnt. So we had 3 ruined meals and one that was ok because I opted for the curry sauce instead. Won’t be rushing back.

To be honest, I would like a partial if not full refund. The chips were terrible, the fish although good, was however made mostly unpalatable due to being extremely greasy, and both my wife and I think we have consumed our daily allowance of salf for a month in one serving. Not good! Sadly, the lovely roll hadn't seen much butter (a cheap margerine was partially spread across one side) a let-down as it said a buttered roll. If you like fish and chips, go somewhere else. They seem to be using good ingredients but need to learn the art of frying fish and chips.
