Just had a lovely meal this evening at the Railway Inn, food was amazing, delicious, definitely home cooked, It’s tucked away out of Lindal but should be on the main thoroughfare for everyone to experience the quality of the food and the service.

Cracking food, good range of options on the menu, so much so we were spoilt for choice. Prices at the higher end for a 'gastro pub' hence a 4 star rather than a 5 rating.

Honestly the worst roast dinner I’ve ever had. Every single thing had been cooked from frozen or microwaved. The roast potatoes were burned and dry and shrivelled up. The beef looked like it had been bought from deli counter and had bisto dumped on it. Cabbage was like something from a Roald Dahl story and I could carry on but we already wasted £50 so I’ll stop wasting my time as well.

Visited twice for evening meals over Easter weekend, found it to be a very welcoming and relaxed pub/restaurant. On our visits, we found the food to be very good (and plentiful) and will look to return if in the area again.

Service was good but food was nothing special, had the chilli beef noodles, tasted like they used super noodles! My partner had the chicken dish which was overcooked and lacked taste
