MYSELF AND MY HUSBAND WERE IN THE AREA FOR A WEEKEND BREAK, WE DECIDED TO GO FOR AN EVENING MEAL AT THE AMBER COURT RESTAURANT. AS WE WALKED IN AT AROUND 8.30PM WE WERE SURPRISED TO FIND WE WERE THE ONLY PEOPLE IN THERE. WE WERE SEATED AND AFTER ORDERING OUR DRINKS AND FOOD IT WAS SERVED WITHIN 5 MINUTES OF ORDERING. IT WAS THE WORST MEAL WE HAVE EVER HAD OBVIOUSLY MICROWAVED. WE ASKED FOR THE BILL ONLY TO BE CHARGE £5 FOR SERVICE FOR WHAT? DEFINITELY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

First time in area and restaurant. Ordered food with ease but didn't have all we normally would have back at home. However, food was hot, very tasty and service was very good. Staff friendly. Will visit again on our next holiday.

Came here for a takeaway, awful service and awful food, very disappointed. We were overcharged, when told he went to change the receipt and came back with it wrong again, told him again it’s still wrong and over charging, he rolled his eyes and huffed at us, he went and changed it, questioned the receipt AGAIN for a 3rd time that it’s still wrong but he said the food is right it’s just the receipt, when we got back the food was wrong, clearly lied to us as he couldn’t be bothered. The food was the worst Chinese Iv ever eaten so wasn’t even worth all the hassle as we couldn’t even eat half of it it was that bad. DO NOT EAT HERE.

We pre-booked table but only one other table occupied. We had soup for starters, then chicken chow mein, kung po chicken, beansprouts and egg fried rice. Food was tasty, service was good. Premises needs some updating. Service charge is added automatically.

What an amazing hidden little gem, we stayed at the swan hotel and spa in Newby bridge for our anniversary and wanted a Chinese (worth the 15 minute taxi ride out). So glad we found this, food was beautiful and the service was excellent. The lady serving was brilliant and a really lovely person! Thank you and we will be back to when we visit again :)

Asked the man if they did chicken nuggets and chips he said yes I ordered 4 portions when the bill came he had charged me £59 saying they don’t do kids meals and that’s the price for adult meals when I questioned it they just blamed it on the system

My husband and i booked a table for a Saturday night however there was no need- the place was practically empty. The interior looked like it had seen better days and the toilets could have done with a clean. The food was very average- we have had better to be honest. The service was good, however and the waiter-pleasant. The red wine was extortionately priced per glass, for a cheap tasting wine- but I guess that is the cost of things these days. I was quite shocked at the price for the whole meal- only a few months ago we would have paid just over half the amount for a Chinese meal elsewhere- but again, the prices seemed to have shot up almost everywhere. It was okay- but did not impress us much.
Excellent Chinese food with prompt and courteous service - highly recommended. Generous portions, good food at a good price.

Visited this restaurant for a takeaway because it was recommended as good. However, the food was not the best Chinese takeaway. The dishes were lacking in fresh ingredients and what was provided was sparse in numbers. All the dishes came with either a watered down or congealed sauce, also the chow mein had the ingredients placed on top of the noodles, instead of combining the two. Also, had to choose the dishes from the menu outside the restaurant because they said they didn’t have paper menus to choose from in the restaurant!

Food was OK expensive to sit in cheaper take away very dated inside an not one other person in there, Peking ribs was nice like 5 for £9 Meals eat in £10/15 Not very Hot but was hungry ate most. was staying on Haven site so closet Chinese eat in foe miles an attached to a pub. The Guy who Runs it seemed friendly.

Fancied a restaurant meal as opposed to takeaway and this restaurant was closest to where we were staying. Restaurant was quiet but there was a steady stream of takeaway orders being picked up. We found the food very good and would definitely go back and would also use for takeaways too. Sesame prawns with lemon dip was excellent.
