Oh how the mighty have fallen....no marvellous fruit cake, a lack of blue goats cheese and selling dreadful Clarkson wine. Quite understand as it was first day open after the holidays. Staff remain absolutely delightful in this gorgeous wee slice of foodie heaven. So I'll be back next Thursday as I'm on a promise of a fruitcake slice! Then 5*s will certainly be awarded...especially if there is Thornby Moor bg and the Diddle Squat is dumped...or at least moved out of harm's way!!

Visited today whilst on holiday from Kent after purposely googling the store and couldn't have been more disappointed.Never known a cheese store been more unhelpful. Wouldn't allow any tasting as too busy (only person in the store) and when I asked about a cheese, the person hadn't tasted it themselves either. Collegues gave answers that were so vague too it was difficult to gauge an answer - it was like an interrogation - only needed to know if it was a strong cheddar as personally I'm not a fan.Lost a large sale as we were looking to purchase for the whole family Christmas and we cheese mad. Guess we will just head back over to Beligum then where we found an amazing helpful store.Such a shame.

Great selection of cheeses and crackers - definitely worth a visit. The staff might be a bit blunt - but they get a 5 star rating for helping a lost blind man whom stumbled into their store.

Good variety of local cheeses and some from a longer distance. Cracker supply as well as olives and other things to make your cheese experience enjoyable.

Cute shop with a good selection. However, we did not find the staff very helpful or inviting when we asked for a selection of local cheeses.
