Derwent Walker Cocktail bar and Restaurant
19 Lake Rd, KeswickThis is my absolute favourite place to go for food & cocktails. By far the best cocktails I've ever had! The food is also very good, and its great that they cater for vegans & vegetarians. They change the menu regularly - they took my favourite the 'vegan burgers' off but when I asked about it, they made me one especially :) The staff are so friendly & attentive which makes for such a lovely atmosphere. Looking forward to my next 'date night' a Derwent Walker! :)

Star of Siam
89 Main St, KeswickAfter a day out in Cockermouth Ic and Flic decided we should eat out and they chose this Thai just three doors down from their accommodation. The three starters were yummy. The idiot who had calamari thinks it was amongst best ever. My hot soup was great as was Ic's Satay. Ic and Flic had the same excellemt samon dish as a main from the Chef's special. I had a beef and basil dish. All very good and washed down with pints of Singha.

Casa Bella
24-26 Station St, KeswickNice place, friendly staff, some lovely food notably starter and desert, plus v nice primitivo. Only demerit was the ok but not phenomenal pizza, which is a shame for an Italian restaurant. Chef should go to Fuocos and try a real Italian Margherita.

Merienda
10 Main St, KeswickVisited here for a spot of early lunch one day while visiting Keswick. Interesting menu, somewhat different to many of the usual cafes and restaurants about, a little more varied use of ingredients and produce. Busy little place, food was tasty (soup and halloumi). Silk Road
58 Main St, KeswickBeing from the Midlands i love me a decent Chinese. Silk Road blew me away last night...everything hot fresh and delicious...could not fault any of the food...which took 20 mins to prep so just enough time to get a cheeky pint in at the Bank Tavern over the square. Couldn't recommend more highly.

The Keswick Cheese Deli
9 Packhorse Ct, KeswickOh how the mighty have fallen....no marvellous fruit cake, a lack of blue goats cheese and selling dreadful Clarkson wine. Quite understand as it was first day open after the holidays. Staff remain absolutely delightful in this gorgeous wee slice of foodie heaven. So I'll be back next Thursday as I'm on a promise of a fruitcake slice! Then 5*s will certainly be awarded...especially if there is Thornby Moor bg and the Diddle Squat is dumped...or at least moved out of harm's way!!

Lakeside, KeswickNo idea why this place is 4.3 on Google. Literally the best coffee for miles around. I'm a barista and cafe owner myself and I appreciated all the little steps they took to prepare the shot. Someone's taken the time dial in, milk was steamed perfectly and a great tasting coffee is the result.

Horse & Farrier
Threlkeld, KeswickThe Horse & Farrier is a traditional small hotel around 3 or 4 miles from Keswick, either driving along the A66 or walking / cycling along a lovely disused railway which takes you to the centre of Keswick. The location is great for walking and Threlkeld itself is nice and quiet. The room we stayed in was perfect - spotlessly clean with a huge and really comfortable bed. The cost of accommodation is very reasonable considering that it includes a good choice of hearty breakfasts, and dietary requirements are well catered for. We had a lovely evening meal in the restaurant - the menu is a cut above normal pub fare but priced very reasonably. Service from all the staff we met was very good. All in all a very enjoyable stay, albeit a brief one. Would heartily recommend staying and eating here and will definitely be back.
