Fellpack
34 Lake Rd, KeswickI drove 5 hours to try Emily's cocktails, but I couldn't walk 5 minutes after drinking them. The main problems with Emily's cocktails are:
1. She is too good at making them
2. They taste too good
3. They are too moreish
There is witchcraft in her hands.
I don't know his job title, so I will just call him the King of the Fellpack, but Aris (Arris?) was the very best of hosts. He looked after us so well that words won't do it justice. So impressed were we by him that I am very much hoping he will one day marry my friend Sarah who I was with (who works at the Square Orange if you want to find her Aris).
The Fellpack seems to only employ the best of people, and Eliza our waitress was the best of the best. Not only trilingual AND the ex-wife of Alexander Hamilton but also very interesting, friendly, intelligent and apparently an expert in handling people who have fallen under the spell of Emily's cocktail witchcraft. And all of that at 17.
We did eat delicious food, but I can't elaborate too much due to the aforementioned cocktails.
The next time I drive 5 hours to get to Keswick I will be spending ALL my time in the Fellpack.

Bar eS Keswick
1 New Street, KeswickAs a Hispanic American, looking for a place that taste like home this place was pretty close. The food was cooked to perfection. The spareribs fell off the bone and the chicken was juicy, but it just didn’t have enough seasoning. It felt like the food was really carried by the sauce. The sauce was amazing but when you ate the meat without the sauces it’s kind of bland. Everything there was delicious though. The service was nice and quick, staff was super friendly. It’s a small space but you don’t feel packed in. I do recommend everything on the menu. We got a lot just to try everything. Everything is really good and get more than you think. Not because the portions are small, but because it’s all good. None of the food was spicy. It’s pretty easy on people that’s not used to eating Hispanic food. I do recommend booking a table. The place gets pretty busy.

The Cottage In The Wood
Magic Hill, Braithwaite, KeswickCottage in the Wood is an absolute gem! From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly attentive and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The location is stunning a perfect backdrop for what turned out to be a real culinary adventure.
Every dish was presented beautifully, and the flavours were bold, daring, and downright delicious. Each bite was a tastebud-tingling experience we couldn’t wait to see what came next.
Our only tiny disappointment was the final dessert, the rhubarb, which felt a bit flat compared to the rest of the menu. My wife and I agreed it was the least exciting course, and it was a shame to end on a quieter note, but honestly, it didn’t take away from what was an amazing overall experience.
One fun idea for the future could be adding extras for the senses, like subtle aromas or background sounds, to make an incredible meal feel even more immersive.
All in all, Cottage in the Wood is a must-visit for stunning scenery, flawless presentation, bold flavours, and staff who genuinely care. Highly recommended!

Derwent Walker Cocktail bar and Restaurant
19 Lake Rd, KeswickWhat a fantastic find - the food and drinks were exceptional. In particular we loved the varying flavours of Espresso Martini (and the chocolate rimmed glasses they came in!) - felt really quite unique. The small plates were excellent and the sea bass too - plus very friendly attentive service and being recognised with a hugely friendly welcome when we popped back in just for a drink the following night.
This is a gem in the heart of Keswick and I would highly recommend a visit if you are in town.

89 Main St, KeswickFood was delicious. Service was very slow, food took ages to come. When we paid they said it was because they'd just reopened after being shut for a while. It would have been nice if they'd explained that when we arrived and perhaps kept us updated. Tables very close together even though not that busy.

Silk Road
58 Main St, KeswickAs the prices were worryingly affordable for Keswick I had set myself a very low expectation threshold for my sweet and sour chicken and chicken chow mein. Turned out it was completely delicious. The sweet and sour sauce was tangy and loaded with crunchy peppers, onions, carrots and pineapple. The chow mein whilst not over burdened with bean sprouts was full of super tender marinated sliced chicken and spring onions. Both meals were very plentiful, hot and served with a smile in just 20 minutes.
If you’re expecting a Michelin starred gourmet extravaganza of mindblowing authenticity and innovation you’re probably going to be disappointed. If on the other hand you’re after a super tasty, well cooked takeaway for a great price and fab service then you’re in the right place.
