We always have takeaway fish and chips here when in Keswick but had them in the upstairs restaurant for the first time. We were not disappointed. Same great fish, chips and mushy peas. Restaurant spotlessly clean and friendly efficient staff. Excellent value for money as always.

Great fish and chips. Freshly cooked to order, well worth the 6 minute wait. Quantity was decent but not swamped with chips to make up for poor quality like some places. Will definitely visit again.

Excellent as always. The Kingfisher never disappoints and the pensioners special is well priced and more than enough for a lunchtime treat. Batter melts in the mouth, fish is white and flaky and chips are crispy and not greasy at all. Mushy peas are also good, probably home made. Many thanks, I’ll be back!

5 Star Fish & Chips. Always have takeaway fish and chips from this chippy. Never disappoints. Great curry sauce too. Also eaten in the upstairs restaurant too and it’s brilliant. Nice and clean, great service and good value for money.

The guy who sounded like he was from Yorkshire was very nice and energetic. Burger was amazing large size and very hot. Fish was good size but kept in a hot hold. Fish cake fair size and good value. Chips cheese and gravy good. Proper choppy gravy. Fair portion. Mushy peas were not great in all fairness
The most delicious fish and chips I have EVER had! The chips were so tasty, freshly cooked and lovely and crisp on the outside and fluffy inside! The fish was beautiful, just the right amount of batter. The restaurant itself was clean and the staff were very warm and welcoming. We will define back. Highly recommend.

I was hoping to leave a much better rated review, but after ordering Fish & Chips, I did have high expectations from all the positive reviews. However, our fish was not fresh, like it should be from around the Lake District. Comparing to fish & chips we had near Lake Windermere, that was amazing, the fish was fresh with chunky flakes!

Have eaten her for 30 years and todays fish n chips were the worst ever hardly any fish over cooked batter and lots of small scrap end of potato chips to hard to eat must stop coming here again.

Overall a decent chippy - me and my partner visited here one evening for a chippy dinner as we were staying in the local area, we also chose this eatery because they offer gluten free options (I am Coeliac). I was disappointed to find out that they do not offer gluten free battered fish! They do offer fish which is un-battered and an option for a Cumberland GF sausage. It's somewhat frustrating as many, many other chippys up and down the country can offer GF batter. Regardless, I ordered a portion of chips on their own. The chips were hot, tasty and a good sized portion, no complaints! My partner who isn't GF said his meal was really good. Battered fish, chips and a portion of curry sauce. The Kingfisher was quick and easy to order, the staff member acknowledged our GF request and explained there was a separate fryer. Decent portion sizes for £9 per meal and it was hot food.
