We always make a point of visiting this pub when in Keswick.Normally, it's a good choice of ales and the food is brilliant. This time, I had the Cumberland sausage with Mash, and the gravy was awesome.

Decent beers. Wainwright theme a bit over the top and manufactured for me.

My wife and I dined and had drinks recently in The Wainwright. To say we were impressed is an understatement, the meals were delicious, with generous portions and the Real Ale superb. On every visit to Keswick this is where we will be heading.. almost forgot to mention, very good polite staff too. Cheers, we'll be back.

Went in this pub as the reviews were brilliant machine coffee was awful.Bar man was not friendly at all which is the reason we chose to leave and not eat as we had planned to for my birthday.

This is one of my favourite pubs. Good food, excellent range of local real ales, kept well. Staff always very friendly and efficient, fast service. Decor has lots of photos and drawings - Wainwright, Terry Abraham, Mark Richards etc. Good music and videos of walks on the fells. Highly recommended.

This pub is just great and credit to Johan and the team for running it so well. It has exactly the ambience you want from a Lakeland pub. There’s a selection of beers, good food and a proper mix of people all having a good time. Johan - my Mrs said you’ve really upped your game on the Christmas decorations this year. We’ll be back every time we are in Keswick.

Poor food and disappointingly the staff did really care. A real pity given the reputation of the place. The food is a one of but the poor service culture of the staff can't be.

Met by a very surly barman who charged me £9 for a pint of beer and a lime and soda. Had to ask for a receipt which he somewhat begrudgingly provided. When I queried the cost of the lime and Soda he just grunted. £1.90 for soda and £2 for lime cordial… remarkable! On bright side £5.10 for a pint felt like a bargain!

Great pub with a great name. Had an excellent gluten free fish and chip meal with a fantastic gluten free draught ale. Very polite and clean. Thank you

Whilst I live in Keswick, it has been a few years since I last visited The Wainwright. Meeting friends who enjoy a beer and thought of The Wainwright for a change. Very impressed by the range and quality of the beers. Whilst it was mid afternoon and mid week just about every table was occupied and can see why. Will be back in the near future.
