Me and my partner were celebrating 5 years together and wanted to treat ourselves so booked to have the 3 course dinner.It was the perfect meal and we were both overjoyed with the flavour and the top class service that came with it. We also loved the additional plates like the duck and the chocolate to finish.I would highly recommend visiting.

Just returned after 2 nights at 1863. Very high quality place to stay. Rooms are immaculately furnished. Staff very helpful and friendly. Food excellent. Highly recommended.

Wow, wow wow! From the moment we walked through the door, we were made to very special for my husband’s leap year birthday celebration. The food was absolutely beautifully presented, but was certainly not style over substance. Each course was absolutely divine, our favourites being the lamb tartare, lamb loin with sticky lamb breast and the rhubarb and egg custard dessert. The server was extremely knowledgeable about each course, explaining them in detail, emphasising the restaurant’s use of locally sourced produce. We opted for the three course dinner, but next time would have no hesitation opting for the seven course taster menu with matched wines. A most enjoyable and memorable evening. Huge thanks to the chefs team - Dan, Neil, Margot and Molly. Also to Kerry and Nino, the front of house team. We will most definitely return - thank you.

We only ate in the restaurant, so I’ve left the bedrooms review blank. We had the tasting menu, which was reasonably priced.The food was fantastic, the staff were lovely, friendly and very attentive. Location would be difficult to get to without a car but it’s well worth the visit.

A truly lovely restaurant with comfortable, well appointed rooms. The food is top top class. Creative, delicious and visually stunning dishes that combine fine dining techniques with lick your plate clean flavours. Hard to fault it. My only disappointment was the meal ended. Every bit as good as most Michelin starred meals.Rooms: Lovely robes, toiletries and a very comfy bed.Food & drinks: As good as it gets. Unless you don’t like the main ingredients on the menu, you are in for a treat.

This is our second time for lunch and both visits have been excellent.The staff were exemplary, especially as we had our 9 month old daughter with us. We were made to feel incredibly welcome.Food & drinks: The 3 course lunch is £50 but well worth it if you compare to the standard of food elsewhere. Go on, treat yourself.

Can't discuss the rooms as we weren't staying but the food and wine was really excellent. Unfortunately, the ambience was not as good as the quality of food, wine and service. You should go more upmarket; your food is good enough!

Excellent food and service. A real culinary treat, unusual ingredients that made your taste buds sing. All the staff explained every course and were really helpful and friendly. Unfortunately we were sat by a couple who did not appreciate the work that went into producing such a menu and were ignorant. Put that aside I will certainly visit again and that’s not my first.

Me & my Neice were treated to the taster menu for the 2nd time & were very satisfied once again. The attention to detail with the food presented was superb & very tasteful. The service provided by the waiter & waitresses was excellent,describing each course thoroughly. The only complaint we had sadly was a couple sat near to us who obviously do not appreciate good quality food & would of been more suited to pub grub.
