This hotel is great if you can handle the stairs, no lifts. The building is now old and tired but very welcoming.Rooms: The double glazing does not allow fresh air in. The bed was comfortable.Nearby activities: Lots of shops close by but many lile everywhere else are closing.

Went for lunch Feb 24. Snack menu very disappointing only sandwiches or toasties or expensive meals. Used to have a good choice of snacks. I won't be back and didn't get my pot of teaPopped in for lunch. Excellent choice and good prices. Outstanding and polite service from all staff. Very peaceful and relaxing

Went for my birthday weekend,a sort of trip down memory lane for me.Whilst I realize the hotel isn't responsible for the roadworks outside the building I feel we should have been warned.Had four guests for Sunday lunch and outlook from hotel wasn't good.Staff were helpful & hardworking, food was mediocre apart from breakfast which was good. The hotel is very "tired" and personally I don't feel was good value for money .

I was there for Xmas dinner earlier today with my cousin, everything was pretty much what you would expect from a hotel: courteous efficient service, good choice of menu etc etc. All good ??
