Fantastic Sunday lunch for the whole family, really tender meat (beef and lamb) and superb salmon, very cosy, staff were super helpful

We visited the Lowther Castle Inn for Sunday lunch......not for the first time, because we know it never disappoints. The portions are large, well cooked, and piping hot. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the meals were excellent value for money. We will definitely be calling in again.

We went to the Lowther Castle Inn for a New Years Eve meal with our family and dog. The service and food were excellent. All the food was so tasty and piping hot. We chose the lamb, fillet steak, pasta bake and scampi, all were of an excellent standard. Thanks so much for looking after us, I would definitely recommend ?

Visited for an early (12 person) family Christmas Dinner, travelled over front North Yorkshire for it.It had been booked for 3 weeks.Initially, they took a while to take our order due to another large good. Once they did, it was ok.The food came out, and it was amazing. All plates were empty by the end.Loved the Lamb and Roasted potatoes. They really made it.The only downside was that there seemed to not be enough staff on shift, which caused delays.Beer selection was off, but you don't gor for beer with great food.

Popped in for a meal at short notice and we were accommodated as it was quieter than usual apparently but it is a lovely Inn with pleasant staff, fabulous food which was very keenly priced and generous too. Lovely and clean and tidy. A credit to who does that! We’ll be back next time we’re in the area!

Never fails to disappoint. The chips are the best. Complimentary Coleslaw excellent, had it with my salad side. Chicken lasagne always excellent, beef lasagne just as good, prawn curry - spicy. No room for pud knowing how good the Pavlova is. Staff were all great, smiling, happy, attentive.. Well done.

Table of 5 , ordered more drink when food eventually arrived our drinks served but left on the end of bar almost finished my meal and asked about our drinks to be abruptly told, it's not waiter service for drinks , our table was the first table by the bar bar man walked passed our drinks 6/7 times before I asked about them , then one pudding dish was taken away from the table and it wasn't even finished, she had gone to the toilet !

We had an enjoyable dinner in the dining room, which was good as the crew for Kendal Calling were in the bar area! The food was good and the portions were also large. The staff were a bit stretched with the folks in from the festival but were friendly and helpful.

Always a great meal, the free coleslaw and hot rolls always go down a treat. Plenty of food and portins are BIG. The chips are handcut and lovely, and they have a great choice to suit all. Servuce is friendly and efficient, lacks a little bit of atmosphere but is a great local pud, and would recommend as a great destination for a famiky meal.
